all4dom 101 Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 I have a q80c 65 inch samsung tv. The app version still continues to be 1.8.0 but it now reflects a new updated fate of 2/8/2025. This version # has been.the same for months. Are we ever going to see the current version? I really don't want to to upfatw from a uab every month not to mention when i tried to install emby via the USB it gave me an error invalid app package for security check failed [-4]. Now the only issue i can think of is the recent tizen update because my sons tv is a crystal samsung tv, had a higher emby app version #.... dont remember which but recently his tv updated to.the new tizen & now the emby app is the same version as mine. I would love to see a normal update like the other apps get. I can't even search in the guide when watching live tv because it doesn't open. Also i don't use use plex or jellyfin. I never have. I've only used emby even in the MB days so please come up with something this app behave like all the other emby apps. Thanks Dom

all4dom 101 Posted February 24, 2025 Author Posted February 24, 2025 Thank you Luke for the fast response but has been something ongoing.... since I've owned samsung tvs & is there a light at the end of the tunnel that we samsung owners can enjoy emby updates like other device owners? This is just becoming very frustrating.
SamES 1056 Posted February 24, 2025 Posted February 24, 2025 I suspect your TV has been upgraded to Tizen 8. For Tizen 8 on older model TVs, Samsung has created new model groups, and they have internally tested and released the app version to the store for those Tizen 8 models. The issue was that they started this process when 1.8.0 was the current version, and it has taken them a long time to process. In the meantime, we are blocked from completing any further updates ourselves. This is why you model still says 1.8.0 but has a recent date (that is the date that Samsung republished the app for Tizen 8 for your model). We are working with Samsung to get their testing completed ASAP, and as soon as they do, we can then push an update to all models.
