anonymouscat888 0 Posted February 22, 2025 Posted February 22, 2025 Hello, I am playing Emby on a Nvidia shield. I will also have clients play on their Apple TV. Is there a way to blur the images instead of having them automatically rotate on the individual movie details screen? I’ve tried to enable blur primary image in the display server settings but that doesn’t seem to work. Alternatively, is there a way to only download backdrops/fanart that do not contain text? I find that the rotating backdrops can be busy especially if they also contain text. Thank you!

May need to elaborate as to your library provider order you are seeing an issue with. Emby already does this as I had Luke not get language specific backdrops from TMDB. But TVDB has text backdrops and I don't know there is a way around them. Might have to ask @Lukeif the language backdrops can be ignored from TVDB also as they do have language identifiers. Or put a setting in-place to enable/disable language backdrops.
anonymouscat888 0 Posted February 22, 2025 Author Posted February 22, 2025 Thank you for responding. So my Movie image fetchers are as follows - TMDB, TVDB, FanArt, and TheOMDB. If TVDB has text included with their backdrops, I can uncheck this fetcher and download the images again. To your knowledge, would FanArt and OMDB include text as well?

ebr 16169 Posted February 22, 2025 Posted February 22, 2025 Hi. There is no way to blur the background at this time. We tried it previously and most people preferred the clear images. The one exception is the "Apple TV" theme in the Android TV app which does apply some blur to the backdrop because that was the only way to get readability of the text on top.
anonymouscat888 0 Posted February 22, 2025 Author Posted February 22, 2025 Thank you both for your insight. I'm going to rescrape the backgrounds.
