Lessaj 467 Posted February 21, 2025 Posted February 21, 2025 Hi, I had an earworm today so I was trying to use Emby for Windows to repeat the song and I realized after it played once that Emby crashed. I've tried playing the album vs the song but either way it's just the one song so the behaviour was the same. I tried to shuffle more than one song with repeat enabled and the results were as expected that it repeated. As soon as there are 2 songs in the play queue repeat mode seems to work fine, if I remove all songs but one either when the track ends or if I hit next track it will crash. I tried multiple file types so it doesn't seem to be related to a particular song or file type. I tried using Emby Theater 3.0.20 and did not experience this, though I did also want to mention that I noticed the repeat mode is different on Emby Theater - it has what looks like no repeat, repeat all, repeat once, and in Emby for Windows I'm only seeing no repeat and repeat once even with multiple songs in the playlist. Is this intended? I see there's an unhandled exception being thrown. I have attached both the client log and the unhandled exception log that I saw was created as well. I tried to anonymize the log for my domain/username. Happy to provide any other testing or details, thanks for checking! 2025-02-21 11:40:08.829 Error Application: UnhandledException System.NullReferenceException: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Emby.Client.BasePlayer.Utils.PlaybackProgressReporter.FillProgressInfo(PlaybackProgressInfo info, BaseItemDto item) at Emby.Client.BasePlayer.Utils.PlaybackProgressReporter.ReportPlaybackStarted(BaseItemDto item, Boolean reportPlayQueue) at Emby.Client.BasePlayer.Utils.PlaybackProgressReporter.OnItemStarted(BaseItemDto item, Int32 playlistPosition) at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.<>c.<ThrowAsync>b__128_1(Object state) at System.Threading.ThreadPoolWorkQueue.Dispatch() at System.Threading.PortableThreadPool.WorkerThread.WorkerThreadStart() at System.Threading.Thread.StartCallback() Source: Emby.Client.BasePlayer TargetSite: Emby.ApiClient.Model.PlaybackProgressInfo FillProgressInfo(Emby.ApiClient.Model.PlaybackProgressInfo, Emby.ApiClient.Model.BaseItemDto) unhandled_23d5aacd-e86c-41cf-9f83-80521934507e.txt EmbyClient.txt
Luke 42077 Posted February 27, 2025 Posted February 27, 2025 Hi, are you still seeing this with the latest app update?
Lessaj 467 Posted February 27, 2025 Author Posted February 27, 2025 Yes I'm still seeing this with 2.219. 1
Solution softworkz 5066 Posted March 1, 2025 Solution Posted March 1, 2025 This is fixed in the next update. Thanks a lot for reporting! PS: The player doesn't support "repeat-once" and the not-quite-accurate icon is due to a technical issue. 1
Lessaj 467 Posted March 1, 2025 Author Posted March 1, 2025 Thank you for the update! I'll keep an eye out for the next version and test once available. 1
Lessaj 467 Posted March 25, 2025 Author Posted March 25, 2025 I see a new release is now available 2.222.2.0 and I see in the notes that the fix was added in 2.221.0. Confirming that repeat for a single song is working as intended now both with hitting next or letting it repeat on its own. Thank you! 1
