Additional Parts does not appear on Fire TV app

Is there any solution to this issue? I know it's been an issue for a while, but can find no solution. For movies with multiple parts, the additional parts section does not appear in the Fire TV app. I know it's not a naming issue because they do appear in the web version of the app and when the first part nears the end, the next part will autoplay. So it knows the additional parts are there and it can play them. But they never appear in the UI on a Fire TV app.

Found this thread that has no answer except to try side-loading the Android app, which you can't do on a Fire TV.

Sure you can but there's no need any more as Standard Android app has been in the Amazon App store for some time now. Search for "Emb" and download it directly.

Found it.

First, if the Fire TV version doesn't work right, why is it still in the Fire TV app store? If a more functional version exists, the Fire TV version should be removed.

Second, both apps use the exact same image? You have to look very closely at the app details to figure out which one is which. That's quite frustrating.

Hi.  It works just fine.  it simply doesn't show the "additional parts" line which is something that is almost never needed these days.  It is a vestige of a time when there were limits on physical media sizes.  The app will, however, play all parts of the movie in sequence.

We recommend combining these into a single file for the best experience.

If you are happy with the standard app, you can simply uninstall the other one.

I would greatly disagree with that. So far I've added nearly 20 movies to my Emby install. 7 of them have multiple parts. To say it's almost never needed is not accurate. I don't want to combine them together. Take, for instance, the Extended editions of the Lord of the Rings. Nearly 4 hours each. I don't necessarily want to sit through all that in a single sitting. Each being in 2 parts works well. It should be easy to find and access each part and play it separately. This is true of any "extended" edition of a movie, of which there are a great many.

All that as a separate discussion, various versions of an application should have feature parity, especially for "core" features like Additional Parts. That's basic software development.

Hi.  You can stop playing any movie at any point and Emby will let you pick right back up where you left off.  There is no need to have a physical separation of it.  The only reason this ever existed was due to limitations of physical media which Emby does not deal with.  So this feature (tracking additional parts) is basically considered legacy instead of core and is not receiving much attention these days. Even the standard app will have limited functionality with the movie in different parts (no chapters, resume is not as seamless, etc.).

If you don't wish to combine them, and really do want them separate, then I would suggest possibly making them separate movies and then putting them in a collection.  This would give you full functionality and the separation you desire.

We are in a transition phase on the Android platform but you have now installed the version we are moving towards and the one with the fullest feature set so you should be good to go now.
