pfm55 0 Posted February 17, 2025 Posted February 17, 2025 I switched from Plex to Emby because I was experiencing DTS stuttering issues that I couldn't find a fix for. i was hoping that Emby would not have the same issue, but it did. After downloading the Emby server, I installed the Emby app for Android TV. When I found the correct playback button, I thought I had resolved the stuttering issue. However, when I started installing the Emby app on my other TVs, I noticed there were two versions: one for Android TV and another for Android. I preferred the Emby app for Android, so I converted it. But after installing it, I realized it doesn't have the same correct playback button that the Emby for Android TV app does. Is there a setting in the Emby for Android app that can replicate the functionality of the correct playback button found in the Emby for Android TV app?

justinrh 260 Posted February 17, 2025 Posted February 17, 2025 What would be the 'correct' playback button?

GrimReaper 4739 Posted February 17, 2025 Posted February 17, 2025 If an item is DirectPlaying: first press triggers remux; pressing it again triggers transcoding. If an item is DirectStreaming: single press triggers transcoding. 1

I have basically switched over to the universal android app but do miss this feature occasionally but less so as I switch to Dolby Vision / HDR10 / Atmos capable hardware such as TCL QM8 TV's.
