Sorry, when you say "remove the old TV Service", are you referring to the the plugin itself (ie remove the plugin before installing the new version) or uninstalling all old channels created by previous version?  Or something else?  The "Sports Movie" channel was a new channel, so I assumed it was using the latest version of the plugin as I always restart the server after I download a new version of your plugin.

He means deleting the mytv tuner from the live tv section in Emby and then adding it again.

Just to make sure we are all using the same code, the latest version is attached below. You can recognize that you are running this version by looking for the miss spelling of "import" on the Channel Management menu. If it is spelled as "inport" then you are on the old code.

Ok, so I installed the new version, deleted my tuner, made a new one. The first channel I tried to make was a tv series one. a search for only tag returned my whole tv library in the preview query. I am using Zen browser which is based on Firefox. Shouldn't matter though. It worked before.

OK, something is wrong. I will fix it asap.  I know what the problem is: if you have no genre specified the query will return the entire library. In my thinking I just missed this use case. It's not hard to fix. I will work on it in the morning. Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention. Is everything else working OK?

thanks @roormonger

I havent done too much messing with it other than testing the tag based search results.

In your test you made a TV Series, did you do this using the "Quick" menu?  If not, which menu did you use?

This was a new channel (ie I wasn't just modifying an existing channel).  I went ahead and deleted and re-added just to be on the safe side, but still am having the same results, I select random when creating the channel but the guide has the channels in alpha order.

I also deleted all TV based channels and started fresh, same problem.

@Jatorare you using plugin 1.0.1.401   ?     I had this problem with earlier versions but not the latest version.  I will check it again. I appreciate you pointing this bug out.

@roormongerif you are using the query menu to select content to create a channel and with that menu you choose the media type to be "Tv Series" without choosing a filter you will receive all TV Series in the Emby libraries. This is normal. I am guessing that this is what you did.  By the way, this would happen regardless of which media Type you choose.

Is this what happened?

Apparently I was one version behind.  Just tried with the latest and greatest and seems to be working again.

Not sure what happened, I had thought I had edited my last post but it's disappeared (the edits).  I deleted all old channels and created new ones.  Only 1 is using random order, all others are still alpha no matter what I select (air date, random, etc).  Let me know if there's something I can share with you to see what's causing it to happen on my side:

Hey Vic, so here's the channels I have added (you can probably tell the one for me vs the ones for my wife).  ;)  As you can see below, the one channel "Fantasy SciFi" is not in alpha order, but the other channels are.  Very odd.

image.thumb.png.7f0e00d30644f6a9c4d3e83c09f00eef.png

Only thing I can tell you that is setup differently is that in Fantasy/SciFi, I have subfolders so I ended up having to add several "batches" of movies separately (basically each subfolder) as I couldn't find a way to select the movies in the subfolder, save and move over to a separate subfolder in the same navigation pane.

This is how I have always done it. It should have only returned a dozen or so shows.TVSourceSetup.thumb.png.428b9af8e3894e6b6ad43a0f76767c33.png

@roormongerI have duplicated the problem.  There is something wrong in the search filter.  I will work on it tomorrow.

@roormongerThanks so much for pointing this problem out. The key info was seeing that you were using the search filter. The problem was a typo. The new code is below.

It's working again. Thank you so much.

Also, How do I export my channels again? I only see an option to import. Does the exported data contain the whole generated EPG or does it just backup the rules used to make each channel?

@roormonger You export an EPG after you create it.  Click the green button to create the EPG (build the TV Guide).

Once the EPG is built you click the yellow button below to export it.  Both the rules for building the EPG and the EPG data are exported.

Oh, I thought there was an option to export externally for backup reasons.

Right after posting, I double checked. I'm dumb lol.

Where does it export to?

Hi Vic, just started testing your plugin and for some reason it dont work with premiere date (heres an example made a channel called  arrorverse which includes arrorw, the flash etc.. after channel has been made the first episodes of all shows are following after each other ie arrorw episode 1, then its the fflash episode 1 where the arrorw should continue till end of season 2 episode 22 then it should be the flash season 1 episode 1 ) is this a bug or not yet made to work...

also ive made playlist for differnt movies, shows etc anyway to import these into your plugin..

many thanks

I believe premier date works by premiere date of the show, not the episode.

oh thats a shame , just tried this with virtualtv plugin and it works as i wanted it too , i stick with that one for now till this improves

I just checked, there is no option for airing date.

It Would be great if vic can allow emby playlists work with the playlist order

I will check on how to do airing date today.

@kalg I your example, you built a channel with the TV Series Arrow and Flash. The channel played one episode from Arrow followed by one episode from Flash. The play order began with episode 1, then episode 2, then episode 3, and so on.

What you want is for all of the episodes of Arrow to play followed by all of the episodes of Flash.

Am I correct?
