hstamas 179 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Coming back to testing this out Vic after a long time away from Emby in general. So far seems to work really well but wont have time to really put it to the test until after work this evening. Couple question and I apologize if they've already been answered. I initially tried to set up a test channel using the "quick" method but all I saw for selections were movie categories even though I had TV show selected? I also didn't see the area where you could include or exclude tags that is shown in your powerpoint example? Has the plugin just evolved past that powerpoint? Still question the inability to choose any TV related catagories though regardless. I am a bit unclear on how to set up a channel that would have a couple different filters used at the same time? When I add say a property filter AND a formula filter do I just keep adding them to the screen and then build the channel? I think the thing that confuses me is the preview you can generate comes before the filters. Is the order everything is on screen not important? Will there ever be a say to specify episode counts or have some sort of weighted option for series that have lots of episodes? In VirtualTV you can tell it to play for example 3 episodes of any particular show in a row before moving onto the next show. This sort of simulates when a tv station plays 3-4 episodes of a series in a row at night. Sort of like block scheduling. Finally, if I need to go back in at a later date and edit a channel will that force the guide to start from the beginning again if I have that channel set to play in order? It seems like it does from what I tried just now, resetting the guide to S01E01 of any particular show in that channel. Oh and could you elaborate on what the IPTV feature is thats coming? I am sort of unfamiliar with IPTV in general. Thanks for all your hard work!
hstamas 179 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Has backup and restore been removed? I dont see it using Chrome on Mac or PC. I think this thread needs a first page versioning list at this point. Seem like enough has changed from the initial release that its getting confusing as to what's still valid or not?
hstamas 179 Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 (edited) One more and I’ll stop Does the attached look valid? When I crest this channel, it’s not excluding the “Christmas Cooking” tagged episodes? Also when you preview the query, it show the list of shows but I thought you could click on a sheet and view the episodes? Update. I think I answered my own question here. Tag filtering seems to only be taking series tags into account not individual episodes? Is there anyway to create a channel filtering out episodes that have specific tags? VicMoore 754 Posted October 25, 2025 Author Posted October 25, 2025 @hstamasSorry for the delay, I have been working. I will reply later this morning. I have a few family activities I have to finish first Vic
VicMoore 754 Posted October 26, 2025 Author Posted October 26, 2025 @hstamas the results of each filter are added together. I am making lots of changes to the IPTV, pod cast, and the TV platform. When I finish this work I will look into making these filters more flexible. Thanks for pointing this out. Vic
Ninko 78 Posted October 27, 2025 Posted October 27, 2025 Hi @VicMoore Can audio channels be used in android auto? Thanks
VicMoore 754 Posted October 28, 2025 Author Posted October 28, 2025 @NinkoIt works with the Android code in the emby clients. I have never tried it with android auto. I use this feature all the time to play CBSRMT. Vic
Ninko 78 Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 @VicMooreI was just wondering if I'd be able to listen to an audio station in the car, you see. Thanks
Ninko 78 Posted October 31, 2025 Posted October 31, 2025 (edited) @VicMooreI find it most convenient to add things to channels using playlists. But could we have a few more options/control... What order the content of the playlist is aired. Check for and update changes to playlist. Also, on a different note, could we have a simple list of what is actively being used in a channel, as it's not that clear to me. Just a few ideas. Thanks PS Just found when playing an audio only channel on Roku, it stops playing at the end of the first song, bug maybe? Edited October 31, 2025 by Ninko 1
VicMoore 754 Posted November 2, 2025 Author Posted November 2, 2025 Yes Ninko, that's very reasonable and easy to do. I need to finish the IPTV plugin that I am working on before doing anything else. Vic 1
VicMoore 754 Posted November 5, 2025 Author Posted November 5, 2025 (edited) @NinkoMotivated by your request, I added a playlist button that provides changing the play order of media in a playlist. It's simple, and I am relying on you to test it. I have done some testing and everything is OK. Vic Edited November 5, 2025 by VicMoore
VicMoore 754 Posted November 5, 2025 Author Posted November 5, 2025 I made a small correction Vic myTV.dll
Ninko 78 Posted November 5, 2025 Posted November 5, 2025 @VicMoorethanks, I will test it shortly and get back to you. Have you had time to look at the Roku problem? Thanks again
VicMoore 754 Posted November 5, 2025 Author Posted November 5, 2025 @Ninko I have been so busy with other things that I forgot about the Roku problem. Could you please explain it to me again? Vic
Ninko 78 Posted November 5, 2025 Posted November 5, 2025 @VicMoorewhen playing an audio only channel on Roku, it stops playing at the end of the first song. Thanks
VicMoore 754 Posted November 5, 2025 Author Posted November 5, 2025 @Ninko I think this is an Emby client problem. When you are playing something on ROKU could you please go to the Emby Dashboard and tell me what it says the client is? It's right below the progress bars. I need this because I don't have a ROKU box. I plan to use the info to add ROKU to the settings menu. Vic
VicMoore 754 Posted November 5, 2025 Author Posted November 5, 2025 @NinkoThat's what I needed. Thanks, I will add it today and then in the settings you can set your device to accept playlists. Now, I must say that I have no knowledge about ROKU devices, so it may be possible that they do not support playlists. If that's correct, then I will have to figure something else out. How is the playlist working? You should be able to change the play order of media in any playlist. Vic
Ninko 78 Posted November 5, 2025 Posted November 5, 2025 @VicMoorei haven't had chance to test the lists yet, but I will definitely let you know. Thanks again
Ninko 78 Posted November 5, 2025 Posted November 5, 2025 (edited) @VicMoorei'm just trying to test the playlist feature, but i can't see any additional options, am i missing something? myTV version 1.0.3.960 Thanks Edited November 5, 2025 by Ninko
VicMoore 754 Posted November 5, 2025 Author Posted November 5, 2025 (edited) Just click the playlist button, select the playlist where you want to modify the play order. Then when the playlist's components are displayed, just click the media to move and use the left and right buttons to move it to where you want it played. This is what you asked for. You wanted to change the play order within playlists. Later I can add more functionality. Vic Edited November 5, 2025 by VicMoore
Ninko 78 Posted November 5, 2025 Posted November 5, 2025 @VicMooresorry maybe I didn't make it clear, I meant could we have options like these that you can apply to a playlist... Thanks
VicMoore 754 Posted November 6, 2025 Author Posted November 6, 2025 @NinkoYes that's possible, but I have to finish coding the IPTV code first. Vic 1
VicMoore 754 Posted November 29, 2025 Author Posted November 29, 2025 Everyone, A close family member is very ill. For this reason, I will be absent from this channel for a while. Vic
