@Dog_BronsonTry the code below. I tested "Random" and it worked OK.  I have made many changes to the TV Platform part of myTV. Let me know if you find any problems. I am trying to simplify and test all of the code befor adding new functionality..

maybe you find a solution for this. 

I am on the latest 4.8 server version, and and can confirm that installing the mytv plugin disables the continue watching functionally on my server.  Only way to get it back is to remove the plugin and reboot the server.

@sake8881I took out my fix because it was reported that everything worked without it.  I probably misunderstood.  I will put the fix back in.

Everyone, I am improving how movies and TV shows are being played. I am testing it now. I should have new code posted soon.  I also fixed a bug in the "Add Channel" code and several other small bugs.

Soon I will have the sort order bug fixed that someone posted earlier.

Thanks @a99190694for the kind words. I will be posting new code soon. The new code will play movies using all of the facilities built into Emby. Let me know if you have any questions or find any bugs.

Yes, I will.
Been testing all day and so far everything is working perfect.
Since I haven't had to do an update yet .. I can just remove the myTV tuner and re-add after the update ? Think I read that in this thread but just wanted to be sure. Thanks again.

Attached is the latest code. I have updated a lot of the code. Now the default when playing media is to only apply catch up ticks to cause the media to play at the appropriate time.  If this doesn't work for your client, you can go into the settings and change how the video is played.  

I have tested with the web client, Emby for Android, and AndroidTv.  If you are using a different client, please let me know so I can add your client to my list in the settings menu.

Thank you so much for the release.  Preliminary testing that I have done shows that the continue watching feature still breaks for the rest of the library.  I tried clicking the add media to the emby resume watching list,and that does not appear to change anything.

@sake8881The default is to not add media to the Emby "Continue watching" list.  This feature is bypassed completely if you select the "Add media to the Emby resume watching" list. When you say that it is broken, you are saying that nothing is ever added to the resume watching list. Do I understand correctly?

I greatly appreciate your efforts alerting me again to this problem.

So I have had a couple of my users recently complain about the continue watching row. The problem they have(and I could replicate 100%) is that if you click an item from the continue watching list it gets removed from the list immediately. Even if you don't watch the whole thing.

I would have never thought this plugin could be responsible though...

From my end, running the latest stable release, nothing ever gets added to the continue watching list outside of the live TV.  This includes TV and movie libraries.  The only thing that solves this is uninstalling the plugin.

Thank you so much for all the hard work.  Just so I understand properly, the ideal mechanism of the plugin should allow the continue watching mechanics to remain untouched for the rest of the library.  The plugin should only give the option to resume previously played content through the live TV section of the library  is this correct?

I just did some preliminary testing to see if the continue watching behavior is normal for TV shows and movies outside of live TV.  Everything seems to be working as expected.  Thank you very much for your efforts on this!

Hi Vic,

 This is the only thing I have seen since the update which I am not sure about, I guess it could have happened before the update I just didn't test long enough. I am using the quick channel setup. I have kept everything the same .. nothing is customized. Seems all the media rotates correctly ..starts and resumes perfect. This is something I have seen a few times and not sure if its on my end or if anyone else has seen this too?

So removing the myTV tuner and re-adding it ..then adding the starter channels again fixed the above.

@FulltiltThanks for the data. I am going to upload new code this week. I am just waiting to test it some more. I have added some new features to the "Starter Channels." I have also added an Image editor to the Explorer.
