Destrox 0 Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 How can I identify series? For some reason, I can't include the name of the series, and I need to manually identify each one, the thing is that I've tried it with emby and it doesn't work, I don't know if there are specific requirements, I do know that in plex, by searching for the name you could already scrape, but here I can't do it.
darkassassin07 652 Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 Right click/long-press on a series and there should be an option to 'Identify'. I find the name field isn't always helpful, but supplying a IMDB/TVDB id usually works.

The problem is that when I select the 3 points to identify it, the option to identify does not appear, only to edit metadata.
darkassassin07 652 Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 What content type is the library set to? 'Home Videos & Images' will not match anything to online metadata sources nor give you identity options. You'll have to put the series in a 'Tv Shows' library for that.

darkassassin07 652 Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 Are you trying to identify individual episodes/seasons then, instead of a whole series? Have you perhaps had two series merge together and are trying to separate them?

Have you perhaps had two series merge together and are trying to separate them? That's it, I need to scrape individual chapters in a series, because I can't access to edit the file name. In Plex what it does is, it adds all the unidentified chapters and when you identify one, they are all identified at once. No, the two series are not merged, I just can't edit the file name, it appears as episode 1x01 4k… episode 1x02 4k… but I can't name it from my files. I'm wondering if there's a way to do the same as plex
darkassassin07 652 Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 When happens when you use the identify function on the actual series (not on episodes/seasons)?

TV Naming These are a number of files that I cannot rename, they are read-only, I know that a correct name should be used to identify them correctly, but I cannot rename the files. GrimReaper 4740 Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 You don't need to rename anything, but whatever action you take needs to be on TV SHOW level, as stated multiple times before, you cannot do it on EPISODE level. Go to "Series" tab and find that TV show>right-click>identify. You can also post a screenshot of your library structure, do you have seasons from multiple TV shows within same folder?

Films- U:/Films Films 2- U:/Films2 TV Shows- U:/Tv Shows (The one that doesnt work) TV Shows 2- U:/Tv Shows 2 (This one works well because the files are named correctly). I think the problem could be that they are individual chapters and not a whole folder.

That's the folder that fails, I don't have the possibility to create subfolders for each series as it is read-only. I thought it would work the same as Plex, that by just adding the series it already introduces them and the only thing you have to do is identify a chapter, and all of them are automatically identified.

Edit: Why don't you just copy those files to a location that is writable and structure it correctly? Edited February 14, 2025 by GrimReaper Append
