"Movies" library randomly changed media type to "TV Shows"

Somehow my movies library has changed media type from "movies" to "TV Shows" so I'm unable to browse my movie library.

I can still watch "Recently released movies" for some reason, but not "latest movies" or just my "Movies" library in general - as it shows up empty when I try to browse it.

It won't let me change the media type manually on server settings; it's asking me to remove and rebuild the library with the new type - so my question is: how could this have happened in the first place?

I don't want to have to rebuild my entire library again...

That's really odd.

Have you maybe created some other library with parent folder as a library path?

Can you post server log and a screenshot of your Settings>Library tab in the sidebar?

I haven't changed/added any libraries. As far as I know, everything was fine yesterday and I just noticed this issue this morning.

I'll post a log when I get a minute

As a sidenote, you have your "4K Movies" and your "Movies" library path same "/mnt/media/Movies4K. Though not officially supported, it should still work as long as library content types are the same - which in current case they're not (Movies vs. TV shows).

First thing you could try is change "ContentType" tag to "movies" in /Library/VirtualFolders/LibraryOptions (LibraryStructureService) API endpoint.

That should hopefully bring back content without the need for library rebuild. You can post server log afterwards for any errors.

Can I edit this with the built-in API browser? or should I use Postman? If the former, could you walk me through it please? I've managed to find ' /Library/VirtualFolders/LibraryOptions' but I'm not sure how to edit anything wit this.

Also, any ideas as to why the content-type would have changed in the first place? I haven't modified anything.

Also, as far as the duplicate Movies4K; I'm using a plugin to allow the 4K folder to be in it's own library, and in the Movies library. It's been working fine for quite a while now (up until this issue, obviously).

I changed  "Id": "string" to  "Id": "11" (11 is my Movies library ID), and set    "ContentType": "movies", as well as entering username and password, but when I try to post I'm getting the following:

200
Operation successful. Empty response.

400
Bad Request. Server cannot process request.

401
Unauthorized. Client needs to authenticate.

403
Forbidden. No permission for the reqested operation.

404
Resource not found or unavailable.

500
Server error.

I also tried chmod 664 library.db and that didn't seem to make a difference either

Yes, you can do it via Swagger.

First you'd need to obtain library "Id" from /Library/VirtualFolders/Query endpoint:

image.thumb.png.1432807434d0b573f25b3ff51db890f4.png

Find "Movies" library "Id" in the response:

In /Library/VirtualFolders/LibraryOptions, change "Id" to above and "ContentType" to "movies". Execute.

Actually - despite those errors, I just checked the Emby WebUI and it seems to have changed to "movies" again!

Any idea what could have caused this issue in the first place? I've been using Emby since it was "Video Browser" for WMC Even before it was Media Browser, lol) and I've never had an issue like this before.

Have you checked in Settings>Library tab or queried /Library/VirtualFolders/Query for content-type change?

Tbh, never heard of content being changed at random with no user/some-other-software-API-call input, only occurrences when there were few posts regarding that was upon server upgrade. But out of the blue - nope.

I did actually "restart my server to finish applying updates" yesterday at one point.

The content-type is back to "movies" on the Library tab now
