iamfishcake 0 Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 I'm using the Android app on my 2019 Nvidia Shield Pro connected to a Denon AVR-X2700H. When watching a 1080i H264 live TV stream from my HDHomeRun that uses AAC_LATM stereo audio, I get no sound. However if I use the Android TV app the sound comes through perfectly fine. Standard 576i MPEG2VIDEO streams with MP2 audio work fine in both, and so does other media. No combination of audio options on the Shield or on my AVR seem to make any difference, so I'm assuming its something to do with differences between the Android app and the Android TV app. Anyone know what I might be missing on the Android app that is causing no audio on AAC_LATM streams? I've no real issue using the Android TV app, but the standard Android app does look and feel a lot better.
Luke 42077 Posted February 13, 2025 Posted February 13, 2025 Hi, yes we are looking into this. Thanks.
ralph445 0 Posted February 16, 2025 Posted February 16, 2025 (edited) hi, has this been resolved? I tried yesterday but still same issue - this issue combined with difficulties with the 'official' fire tv app and remote access means I'm a bit stuck. I also have this issue, which seems to be generally concerning the firetv app and different kinds of remote access (tailscale in my case) If anyone has any work arounds for either of these issues I would appreciate it. GaryMUK 7 Posted February 25, 2025 Posted February 25, 2025 Hi @Luke, do you happen to have an update at all on when/if/how this can be fixed or worked around? I wasn't even aware that the Android App was now available on FireStick, but today an advert/message came up in the FireStick app today inviting me to "try it out". So I installed it, it looks great, but the first thing I tried to play was an HD tv channel, and I hit this problem. No audio when trying to play back an AAC_LATM stero stream on any of my HD channels. So for now I cannot move to the Android app, but now I also know I am on an app that will not be a feature rich (the advert said the Android app gets newer features) and visually the FireStick app is not quite a polished. So the advert has essentially made me aware I am now getting an inferior experience, so really hope this will be fixed soon, very happy to help test out any worksrounds/fixes if I can help in anyway.
Luke 42077 Posted February 25, 2025 Posted February 25, 2025 Hi, it should be resolved in the next app update. Thanks. 1
