So, there are DLLs posted both the 19th and 20th march, I was editing the CPU & threads control and trying to get items identified properly, a few movies etc with numbers in them were creating seasons folders.

That gives me an idea where to start looking.

I'm running this on the x86 mac. I turned off logging just to see if it finishes. I may just do a smaller m3u if it doesn't finish.

I was running the previous dll on my QNAP. I have now updated to the latest, and will run just one more with a full m3u.

As I only ran it 12 hrs ago, not much new content should have been added, so in theory, it should be quicker

I believe I may have found the reason it is taken hours to complete. At the moment it is taking over 4 hrs on my QNAP. If I immediately run it again, it take approximately the same time. I have only been watching movies, the same could possibly be happening with live tv and tv shows.

So first, my folder structure is: VODs>Movies>group title (e,g Action_thriller)>movie folder>movie strm

So, I view it before I run the plugin, I can see all the strm's no problem.

I run the schedule task, and the progress bar goes through 3 stages - 2%, 50% and completed

At 2% I see no issues

At 50%, not sure exactly when, but whilst it is at 50%, if I go into my VODs folder, I can see the group-title, but when I go into that folder, there is no content (no movie folder or strm's)

Sometime during 50% and completing, I recheck the folder, the movie folder and strm's have re-appeared and the strm has a timestamp of today

I could be completing wrong about this, as I don't know the inner workings of the plugin, but it looks like it is deleting all the strm's and then re-adding them

Also, to point out, I was monitoring one of the movies, and the filename is exactly the same prior to deletion and after re-appearing, so it's (in theory) not renaming.

I haven't been though every group title, but I have check about 10 and they are all having there strm's deleted.

So front my point of view, either something keeps changing in the original m3u, causing it to delete and re-add, or the plugin is removing them and re-adding them.

On completion it took 2 hrs 48 mins, so less than the 4 hrs, but that was run when no scheduled tasks were running and nobody was watching anything

With all the logging turned off, this old ass macbook ran correctly. Going to try the same on M4 now.

Same here. It jumps from 2 to 50 and back to 2%

I haven't noticed it jump back to 2%. How long did it take for your last run?

An hour. This is the first time I’ve tested on an old Mac though and it’s intel based… no idea if that makes any difference.

I turned logging on the old mac and now it's slow...

It will always be slower with logging on

You're recording media and watching later? This plugin allows you to watch on demand any tv series or movie that is available from the big streaming companies.

Not quite, but I will explain further

It allows you to import movies you have supplied by your providers subscription, as if they were "local" on your disk and watch them from your library, rather than the TV service.
So in a nutshell it allows you to create a library, "like a bookshelf" of the movies & TV Shows from your streaming provider
It doesn't allow you to watch them as if they were free.

Attached is the same dll as above but re-enabling the trigger button after a successful run.  I missed that bit 😛

Fair but I'm at hour 2 with the x86 mac. It didn't used to be this slow...

If this is aimed at me, then there is no change. Strm's are still being deleted

I won't get back on it until at least tomorrow,  haven't found anything thant would cause them to be deleted and re-written.

With the settings I am using mine aren't.

However there are a few alterations in the last dll, mainly preventing threads spawning that shouldn't and amendment for the providers such as tmdb.

The biggest issue was launching the task by the trigger button at the bottom of the config page, the JavaScript was triggering twice due to the way the browser renders the page.  That is now sorted (for now).  That was causing the threads to double up and the main thread to run twice concurrently.  If you had this extra time, that should be gone now.

Now I need to find and fix the re-writing issue and narrow it down further .

So I will re-write that part of the code.

A new log is being created that i haven't noticed before: FileWriteDebugLogging. I can dm it to you, if it might help

That's been there for a while now, IO logging is an option, maybe with the changes it's just on and not working with the options, I will check that as well.

Here is a directory list of the VOD files outputting. It looks good except a few naming issues. TV Shows aren't being identified in the metadata so I'm going to rerun to see if changing it to tvdb api makes the identification better.

movies.txt 372.42 kB · 0 downloads tvshows.txt 67.89 kB · 1 download

The tvdb API will only make emby identify them better, not this plugin.

If you open the strm created in the folders where the TV show name is cut off, copy it (the link to the stream) and search it in your m3u you will be able to give me the titles of the TV shows it's affecting.

Word. I'll do a quick vlookup in excel and see what matches and post it.
