Added a section to treat carefully during country code removal

 

Here you can Add movie names that you might encounter in the future that output as just a (year) like "(2017)" when removing country codes is in use, in the pre-inbuilt items shown above EN -It (2007) would not have both "EN" and "It" removed, only the "EN - "
The movies listed do not need to be entered, they are already built in.

Splitting them up into separate libraries works and it gets me with ~99% of the drive total.

I don’t know what I did wrong but holy fuck the plugin is still running on macOS but hasn’t written a single file. It’s been more than a day.

Ok I stopped it and turned off the verbose logging and rerunning it. *fingers crossed*

I am not sure I understand what you want to achieve?

You can delete anything with a file browser, don't you have access?

Hey @mickle026any idea why my mac is taking so long to finish? Win11 is done in under 40 minutes. Same version, same settings on mac and it's just running. I sent you the logs over dm but let me know if you want a more recent one. The mac used to work several versions ago so I'm wondering what changed?

Nothing changed in that regards,

the only things I edited since then was move a log item to the front of the log, so its not repeated, and a country code addition ( a few cpu cycles), nothng that would add more than a few milliseconds to each item that was valid.

Did you update it?

Yeah both are running v 130. The log doesn't show an error, it just looks like it's running terribly slow on mac vs windows... it's so weird I didn't have an issue before.

I don't have a mac so i cannot even test it.

 

Do you have anything like this on the mac where you can see what it is doing

Not being funny, but is this even correct? - that's tiny! 1/2GB of memory? the rest written to disk and loaded as needed (Virtual Memory)? and the CPU at 93% 

If the screenshot is correct the system is maxed out, reading and writing to and from the disk, using it as memory..

 

Edit: Ah its a docker container, can you increase the memory allocated to it?

Yeah... Let me play with it some more. I have a macbook laptop m1 Pro with 32 gb vs this base m4 16 gb. It's just weird that this was working perfectly fine a while back. Worst comes to worst, I can use the Windows VM to serve like I'm doing right now using shared drives and the mac via VPN to host/download. The only docker image I have is prowlarr, but I could be forgetting something.

So I think we're much closer to a solution with separating the libraries like you asked. That's def an emby issue. I want to have the macos run and maybe I'll spin up VM Ubuntu and check there as well.

I am definitely not an expert on that stuff, but I can see where the constraint seems to be.  I have no idea if nothing on your docker has changed and it worked before and doesn't now, what this issue is.  Nothing has changed really, in the way it does thing, just a few checks for edge case movies, nothing that would add all this time.

I have two other macs I'll test on. x86 I7 macbook pro latop and ARM M1 Pro laptop and see if there is any difference.

That's not currently supported, but I can add an option for it. For example,"don't create individual movies folders."

There is already an option not to create group folders such as your "en box office" folder, but not for individual movies.

Fixed using Group By Genres when using A Provider API Key

NO Movie Folder, but grouping by genres

Not sure what's changed, but on my QNAP, it is now taking over 4 hrs to run (nothing else happening in Emby). At one point in a previous dll, it want complete it all in less than an hour

I'm wondering when this change has occured.

Was it after I added CPU thread controls?

Was it even after that, was it when I added memory allocation to the top of the log?

Was it after I added extra verbose debug logging?

Was it after I fixed the country codes removal?

I'm asking because it will give me an idea of what I was editing at the time and thus an idea of what it might be.

 

I have noticed it can still double trigger the background process.. especially on small m3u's

I have all logging unticked except for split log option. I believe it was before CPU thread controls, but cannot be certain

I see no change here in terms of time but there is now 2 of you experiencing this so something I did has changed it.

You said 30 mins approx to 4hrs that's an 8x increase.  So something must be well off or repeating itself.

Can you do me a favour if you have time because I'm at work right now.  Run it with country codes on, then off, things like that and see if you can narrow it down where it might be....

No rush, it doesn't matter if you can't I will do it later.

To test use a smaller m3u, copy and paste some into a new file, and save that, don't run for 4hrs each time and see what changes it makes to the total time.
