Convert AAC 5.1 TO EAC3 5.1

Hi,

 

Is there any setting to convert AAC 5.1 content to EAC3 5.1? I've got an old receiver that only supports arc not earc. EAC3 5.1 plays fine but AAC 5.1 only comes out as stereo.

I've looked through the settings client and server side and can't see anything.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

In the old app, Emby for Android TV, theres a setting called "audio output" you can set it to "convert to unsupported formats to dolby digital". That might work.

Android it self should also have a setting for it, Display & Sound -> Audio output -> Dolby Digital Plus output.
You might have to disable Pass through mode so experiment a little.

This should help with compatibility with your receiver but i can't promise anything.
