all4dom 101 Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 Recently I have not been able to view emby remotely from my phone & im not sure when it stopped working but I did recently switch from spectrum cable to greelight networks, which is fiber. When I log on canyouseeme from home, it says my port timed out. Any help will be appreciated. Also all my components, etc are the same. Only change was cable switch. I'm also running windows 10. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Dom
pwhodges 2012 Posted February 9, 2025 Posted February 9, 2025 Have you reconfigured your port forwarding for the new ISP? Have you run the check for the new ISP using cgNAT? - that's important, because it prevents external access. Paul
all4dom 101 Posted February 9, 2025 Author Posted February 9, 2025 I did delete & redo the portal forwarding. I.dont know what the cgnat is.

Have you tried the tracert? https://emby.media/support/articles/Remote-Setup.html?q=remote#:~:text=You could also be blocked by your ISP in something known as a cgNAT
all4dom 101 Posted February 10, 2025 Author Posted February 10, 2025 Ok second line starts with 100, next line starts with 172 & second number is 16 so that means they are blocking me? 1

all4dom 101 Posted February 10, 2025 Author Posted February 10, 2025 So what are mu options? This sucks, faster then cable but no remote access. Maybe cancel?
Neminem 1519 Posted February 10, 2025 Posted February 10, 2025 Call them and ask for a static ip or here about the price for a static ip.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 10, 2025 Posted February 10, 2025 Quote most users with a CGNat will use TailScale or a VPN to get around it.
all4dom 101 Posted February 10, 2025 Author Posted February 10, 2025 Thank you all for your help. So I looked up my new provider, greenlight networks & they do employ CG Nat on their network. Wish I had known this before. Im going to contact them this morning to see how much a static ip cost & i am assuming a good VPN or talliscale will cost something also. Should I move back to cable maybe?
pwhodges 2012 Posted February 10, 2025 Posted February 10, 2025 Tailscale is free for this level of use. Paul
all4dom 101 Posted February 10, 2025 Author Posted February 10, 2025 Ok. I spoke with greenlight networks & they charge 10 a month but let me look into the free version to see how it would work.
