I can easily understand the chain of events that could lead to this, but I have 2 quesiotns then: Why some movies would work without any issue (for instance 1080p DTS HDMA) Why would Plex always work? If this would have something to do with HDMI negociation, it would be more an on/off thing (and WAY more easier to troubleshoot) no?

I did some more tests a few minutes ago by forcing the transcoding to DTS ‘only’ (on the DTS-HD track) and the film ran straight away. I changed the sound settings back to automatic mode and in DTS-HD, the film also started! I then tried restarting the Shield again to see if it would make a difference and the film launched in DTS-HD again, whereas earlier in the afternoon I couldn't get it to do so... I hate those inconsistant issues! PS: I have one main power switch and everything is completely restarted every time. I call it the broken car and the mechanic syndrome. A broken car always some how works when you are at the mechanic and have to explain whats wrong. 1

I've uploaded more logs here with two films that would not play ("To Die For" and "Bound") and one that did play ("Peeping Tom"). embyserver (1).txt

Bigmack3000 107 Posted July 24, 2025 Author Posted July 24, 2025 Hey, this problem has still never went away. I get around it by choosing the 2nd chapter and then rewinding to about 20 second before the start of the movie. If I rewind all the way, it won't play. I'd love for this to be fixed at some point though. Logs for "Raging Bull" attached. Thanks! embyserver (2).txt
EHRETic 7 Posted July 24, 2025 Posted July 24, 2025 Hi there, Since last time, I didn't had any issue anymore but there was also a significant upgrade to my home cinema as my "historical" amplifier died earlier this year after 25 years of service... I had to buy another one, so I chose the Marantz Cinema 40, which supports all curent audio formats. Don't know if it was the solution, but I didn't had this issue since.

A few days ago, I played a file right after adding it, so before chapters loaded with emby, and it had no issue. The next day I tried one after chapters were recognized by emby, and the same problem. 1

The only way to guarantee it plays is if i skip to chapter 2 or 3 and then rewind. But if ai rewind to the beginning it won't play. Would love to see this fixed.
Luke 42077 Posted August 24, 2025 Posted August 24, 2025 Hi, we are working on trying to chase this down. Thanks.

Tonight, it would not even play the file if I skipped to the second chapter first. I just want the movies to play without issue. embyserver (3).txt 1
