Unable to scroll through library on AA unless current playback is stopped

Pretty much as the title suggests.

Loving my new in car Emby Server connected to Emby for Android and AA. My only remaining (small) issue is that scrolling through the library or the current playlist shoots me straight back to the top of the list as soon as I let go of the screen. Scrolling works fine if the current media playback is paused/ stopped first.

Has anyone else experienced similar with the Emby for Android AA integration and found a solution?

Thanks,

So using Yatse as a client does the same thing therefore I have to assume it's a problem with my phone or car.

Same behaviour whether driving or stationary with the handbrake on.

My guess is a Ford Sync issue.

Hi, thanks for following up !

The least you guys deserve for all the effort that goes into this great product!

I'm abandoning my project. Way too many limitations to make it worth while but that's not an Emby issue. Maybe the AA interface could be tweaked to make it more practical but I honestly wouldn't think it's worth the time based on the number of potential users and the other demands on the team's time.

Keep focusing where it counts so I can reap the benefits at home 😀.

Thanks,

I've noticed the same behaviour start in my Kia in the last month (I think?) but it didn't happen in the months before that.

It's not consistent between different trips but once it does it, it persists for that trip (or more accurately up until the point I give up and focus on driving).

It doesn't matter whether it's a text list of albums, authors, folders; its returning to the top within a second.

I'll be trying from a brand new phone tomorrow but my gut feel is that it's AA.

I'm using Android client 3.4.36 and not sure what ver of AA. I don't recall seeing the car get a software update in the last month.

I'm interested in any tips for diagnosing it.

I will attempt  reproducing with emby client logging on enabled tomorrow.

Thanks for the prompt Luke.

Made the time and details attached.

I hope that helps.

The symptom was happening on my old S21Ultra and happens on the S25Ultra which was a clean install.

My client is 3.4.36

Android Auto is 13.7.650624-release

ONE UI v 7.0

Android 15 patched to 1 Feb 25

Entirely separate comment - the original reason I was on the forums was to figure out how to make Emby Android connect once it connected to car Bluetooth as most of the time it would not; and I'd have to do it manually via phone HOWEVER on the new phone - it seems to connect perfectly every time saving me some precious hair.

Love your work Luke.

Sorry for the size of video.
