yocker 1247 Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 I have had tone mapping working on my Intel Arc card for a good while now but today i decided to change to a Nvidia card i had. The colors are much much MUCH better, i'm seriously beginning to think there's something more serious wrong with Intel transcoding than we think. How are you guys colors with the Arc Cards and are they better in Plex and Jellyfin?
sanjaydevani 4 Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 I’ve had an Intel Arc card before, and while it did the job, I always felt the colors weren’t as vivid as I’d like, especially when watching media on Plex. I recently switched back to Nvidia, and honestly, the color depth and contrast are way better—it’s noticeable right away. I think Intel’s transcoding still has some room to improve because, even though it worked, the visuals just didn’t pop as much. I’ve found Nvidia’s color handling to be much more consistent and richer.
yocker 1247 Posted February 6, 2025 Author Posted February 6, 2025 Next to my Nvidia card the Intel ones tone mapping makes the video look like you are looking through sand blasted glass. Theres something really wrong.
