Problems loading Emby server

I have been using Emby for a very long time but recently I have been getting more and more problems with it, My server is a windows 11 PC that acts as a server nothing else, after I update Google Chrome my Emby server would not load properly and takes more than an hour before it start to work properly, Tonight I noticed I could not log on from my TV and on checking on the server I got this message "This site can't be reached" see attached (1) I restarted the PC and Emby load but only the logo see attached (2), then after refreshing the screen multiple times it shows some of the covers (3) then if I try to play a movie it shows an error (4) and if I keep refreshing the page one by one the features start to work.

I'm on the latest Synology 7.2 NAS beta 4.9.0.37 and have a very large collection , i have noticed that Emby Server is hanging doing its scheduled tasks since late last week .  The only solution is to do a daily hard reset of the NAS which kills the Emby tasks . After the NAS restarts , Emby probably needs another 10 min and then everything goes back to normal. I guess i'll have to use this workaround till the next BETA update becomes available. I do have component updates being applied automatically - eg Sonos , Back up and Restore etc

I don't use NAS my server is a windows 11 PC using Emby Version 4.8.10.0 with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11600K @ 3.90GHz  a MSI MAG Z590 Torpedo motherboard, 16GB RAM , Main drive 1TB NVMe, 3 x 4TB HDD and 2 x 8TB HDD. Everything was going great since I setup the server a few years ago then around 2 months ago I was having issues connecting to another PC in the house so I did a network reset and everything went downhill from there.

I have the server running since last night when I restarted it and if I scroll down some of the covers have still not loaded but if I hit Reload this page on Chrome the covers there load but further down some still not loaded.

@GrimReapercan you split the 4.9.0.37 users out of this topic into the testing areas it is a known issue and unrelated to the 4.8.10.0 issue.

Hi @RoyHnothing obvious here. Are you sure this wasn't after the fact?

Anyway I would try going to one of those movies such as Hunter Killer. Please try refreshing the metadata on that movie and see if it helps get an image.

It was after the fact when I restarted Emby nothing was working only the logo appeared and little by little it started to come up as I kept refreshing,  

I would get the images that are missing if I reload the page but it would only be those on the actual screen so I have to scroll down refresh again and so on to get all the images back.

I just restarted it and everything went fine everything loaded right away, no problems, don't know if this had anything to do with it but last night there was a popup stating something about website not being secure, I reached for my glasses to read it hit the keyboard and the popup disappeared so I went into Norton 360 switched off and then on all permissions for Emby as thats the only thing I use the PC for. Maybe it was the antivirus blocking Emby from loading not sure but Emby is working perfect now.

@LukeHi, it happened again I tried to access Emby from my phone today and couldn't, when I came home and looked at the server it looked like screenshot attached, I refreshed the page and it went to the Emby logo and could access nothing, after like 8 or 9 refresh it finally start to load the metadata. I could not access the logs as nothing loaded at first now I can access it attached are the last two Logs one from 12 and the other when I came home a little while ago.

Hi, around what time did this occur?

Sometime during the day on Wednesday I went to work around 11am everything was good sometime in the afternoon around 5 tried to access the server remotely and couldn't, when I came home after 8pm discovered the issue

Please attach the log from the 12th, the 2 logs you provided the other day were from the 11th and they were the same log.

Sorry did not realize that the log dated 12th is at 12am so only had the 11th here is the correct one

OK there's still nothing obvious here, so I would suggest simplifying. Please remove these plugins:

	CoverArt 4.1.28.0
	Xml Metadata 3.5.1.0

Then restart the server and let's see how things compare. Thanks.

Uninstalled the two and restarted Emby initially it started up with some of the images missing like before but they came on about 10 seconds later and everything seems good, restarted it a second time and everything was good right away, Restarted the PC and everything loaded perfectly. Will monitor it for the next few days and see.

Thanks @Luke I think that did the trick almost a month and everything working fine since I remove the 2 plugins
