js28194 36 Posted February 3, 2025 Posted February 3, 2025 (edited) So I have some time now, and trying to upgrade from 4.7.xx to the latest, the server doesn't seem to be doing anything at all. I have a "fairly" large library, but it seems nothing has happened for 2+ hours now. No emby service (except embytray.exe) is running so I have no visiblity to what is happening. Is this normal? What can I do? I have a fully backed up Emby-Server Folder so push come to shove I can roll back. I'm getting unable to connect on http://localhost:8096/web/index.html Edited February 3, 2025 by js28194
pwhodges 2012 Posted February 3, 2025 Posted February 3, 2025 You seem to be describing Emby not running. Try running it again. If it still stops running, copy the embyserver log from the logs directory and show it here - it may explain what's going wrong. Paul
Luke 42078 Posted February 3, 2025 Posted February 3, 2025 Hi, yes, and to add to that, the server logs folder can be found here: How to Report a Problem
js28194 36 Posted February 3, 2025 Author Posted February 3, 2025 What logs are there, if the server is not running. Doesn't matter now, I had to nuke the whole thing and start fresh.
pwhodges 2012 Posted February 3, 2025 Posted February 3, 2025 Presumably the server started running and then stopped - the logs would cover that period, and hopefully record an error which might explain a crash. Paul
Lessaj 467 Posted February 4, 2025 Posted February 4, 2025 4.7 to 4.8 had a one time run to remove the virtual items for missing episodes - it did not report any progress all you could do was wait for it to finish. The last line the log would have identified this to be the case, I think it even said how many items it was dropping in the log line.
