musicmafia 38 Posted February 3, 2025 Posted February 3, 2025 (edited) Hello everyone! I'm having playback issues with this file and I can't figure out why. Small 1080 mp4 file. Plays fine in VLC, but when I playback via Emby on my desktop or TV, the video is jerky and robotic, although the audio sounds fine. First pic is TV, second pic is desktop. 99% of my other files are playing fine. That said, I do run into this mysterious jittery playback issue every once in a while. Not sure what causes it or fixes it. Thanks! Edited February 3, 2025 by musicmafia
Luke 42078 Posted February 3, 2025 Posted February 3, 2025 Hi. Can you try searching for our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) on the same device's app store and see how that compares? Thanks. 1

He showed a screenshot from that app with 172 dropped frames. @musicmafiaHave you tried remuxing that item?

Thanks. Is there an easy way to do that without any special programs? Can I do it in VLC? I also have Handbrake but haven't used it much.

I downloaded mkvtoolnix, but first I tried VLC and whatever I did there errored out and over-wrote my original mp4 movie file with a blank file. So I'll just get a different file for the movie. I would like to eventually figure out the problem or how to fix it. It doesn't happen often, but I do get this weird jittery playback occasionally on emby with some files that play fine in VLC.

I accidentally over-wrote the file while trying to use that mkv tool for the first time, making any further troubleshoot impossible. If it happens again with another file, I will reach out. Thanks again! :) 1
