unique standard Android App

Hi,

Wonder why there still is the Android Sideload App in Testing Area, instead of making it the default android app.

The Sideload app is working, has much more features and about 2 years ago Luke told me it is planned to make this the default and only android app.

Instead of developing 2-3 different android apps the sideload app should be the one in the app store for all android devices.

When will this happen?

I don't see a reason for having multiple android apps available.
All my friends are using the sideload app, but as this one isn't in the app store, they always need to manually update.

 

I think it would be a good idea to make this one the defaut and only android app

Hi.  it already is.  You don't need to sideload anymore.  You can install right from the store.

Ok, i am glad this is now the same App, but i saw, there is a huge version difference. In the store i see 3.4.20 and the sideload app is 3.4.36

That would be beta releases provided as side-loads.

When is the android app functioning like a tv app and being able to show user selection on start up, and actually exit the app not just put it in the background and also not showing the side menu when pressing back on the remote? as it is now the android app is not really fitting for tv use, more desktop and mobile phones. But not tv.
