Hello!

The feature "More Like This" is driving me crazy!
I hate that I can't disable it, and even more, because I can't control/change what is being recommended!

WHY?!
Why can't I disable it?!
Why can't I change its content?!

What are the politics behind this? I feel like I'm feeding ads to myself. The reason for having a custom media server is to promote whatever I want, not what YOU want!

The algorithm is so stupid that is recommending content from the wrong library!

Hi, the matching is based on finding items with similar metadata, e.g. similar genres, tags, actors, etc.

In the upcoming 4.9 release of the server this will be a little stricter which will improve the matches. Thanks.

Regardless of the improvements being made to the algorithm, the lack of control over the content is the most frustrating aspect.

This issue is not something new. Searching for a way to fix it, I found many posts as old as 2017 asking for a way to disable/hide it globally. However, there has never been a clear explanation as to why this can't be done, nor has a solution been offered.

I understand that this could be something complex and might not be a priority, but is it that hard to implement a simple way to just hide it until a better solution is found?

I truly appreciate Emby and would prefer not to switch to another platform, but I must express my frustration—this situation is disappointing, Luke.

Hi there, did you know that, if you are using the Emby Web App you can hide the "More Like This" section by using custom CSS. Just go into Settings and add this code into the CSS section:

/* HIDE "MORE LIKE THIS" SECTION */
.similarSection {
    display: none;
}

It only works for the Web App though, not all the other Emby Apps, so may have limited usefulness for you?

It would be great to be able to show/hide/rearrange all of the vertical sections on the various pages to suit personal preference. Hopefully Emby will consider this for their forthcoming "smart" functions in version 4.9.

Hi! I appreciate the mention of this CSS mod, but unfortunately it doesn't do anything to the content being shown on TV or Android.

What is that code supposed to actually do? I installed it and even restarted the server but i still see "More like this" when I select a TV show from the TV library. That is the code seems to do absolutely nothing.

And, YES, i am using the web app to test.

It's working for me, but only when using a web browser. It doesn't work for any of the devices nor when using Emby Theater.
