Situation: Windows 11 machine, Emby server (beta 4.9.0.37) and mostly Android devices (for TV) - also Nvidia Shield (3 devices). Emby Android TV: When I play a TV SHOW (stream), no problems. When I play a MOVIE (stream), loading shortly, after a couple of seconds back to the selection screen of that movie (that's it). Emby Android: Plays all fine. ** there are differences with both apps; the Android TV app is (for me much!!!) better with streaming files; subtitle handling, subtitle changes for timing (screen on the normal Android version is in the middle - so mostly you cannot see the sync is OK), better menus handling on the Android TV app, better video performance overall, automatic quality is not working well with the normal Android app - working very good on de Android TV app, and so on... Emby Windows client: Plays all fine. Emby iOS app (iPhone): Plays all fine. It seems like the problem begins after installing the beta version 4.9.0.37. Is it a known issue overall, in combination with the Emby Android TV app??! (I'm crying here, because it was working very good! ;-)) Solution to downgrade the server? Thanks!

dves010 1 Posted February 3, 2025 Author Posted February 3, 2025 I will do, post logs. !! Have "downgrade" the server to version 4.9.0.35; now it is working again like before !! Will upgrade to version 4.9.0.37 and will try again and post logs.

Hope the logs are okay...and give the right info. Did both, forced and without (directplay). I've now manually downloaded the latest version of ffmpeg, ffprobe and ffplay and put it in emby system folder; it seems that it work now... Is that logic? That is not going to work for you. We have custom versions of these on purpose. Please post a new thread in the beta server forum if you continue to have problems with the next server beta release. There are things we've added that the server will attempt to use, and that's when things will potentially break.
dves010 1 Posted February 9, 2025 Author Posted February 9, 2025 Want to inform, that after updating to latest beta version 4.9.0.38, it is working again. So, version 0.36 and 0.37 were not working (Android TV app) - for me. Thanks for this great software anyway Very happy with it! 1
