JackBowman 35 Posted January 31, 2025 Posted January 31, 2025 Just a heads up. Not only does the Android version of Emby run on the Meta Quest 3, but the Android TV version does as well. The screen is resizable as well with a screen gadget in the left lower corner of your virtual screen. It uses the pass through mode so you can have a 20 foot big screen tv in your living room if you want. You will need to enable developer mode on the Meta 3 and use Sidequest to side load it. Have fun! 1
Luke 42077 Posted January 31, 2025 Posted January 31, 2025 Hi, that's great to hear. Thanks for the feedback.
popy 71 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Hey guys, a question regarding Emby on Meta Quest 3. Yes, it runs (Emby for Android and the Android TV Variant) after sideloading. I want to use it to play 3D SBS titles. Added the " - .3d.hsbs." in the file name and also Emby is showing the seconde video track in the webview on an windows PC. Also i can select it and it shows the SBS video. On the quest i can get it to play, but not in 3D, it also shows the two video streams SBS (left and right video stream at the same time). Also tried to set the 3D format in the metadata of the movie, but that did not change anything. The only thing is to set "play in external player", than it opens 4XVR with the emby url and it works. Should this work in emby itself with the emby built in "ExoPlayer"?

JackBowman 35 Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 (edited) Try using the the Bigscreen VR app on the Meta Quest 3. They have a server app that should be run on the same PC that is running your Emby server. Bigcreen supports several 3D viewing options. Browse to your 3D movie or use the DLNA option to locate it. popy 71 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) I bought the SkyBox VR App and can now access my NAS over SMB and watch 3D Movies. The app is really nice and worth the money. Also tried to activate DLNA in Emby Server and found my library in SkyBox VR and also watching 3D movies worked, but i dont want to share my library without authentification on the network, so i disabled it and using SMB for now. I am keeping the sideloaded Emby Android App for just 2D Content. Hope this helps. Edited January 8 by popy 1
