Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 31, 2025 Posted January 31, 2025 Since you are on Windows you can place a portable install on say your desktop in a folder and see if it starts as it will not affect the current install. https://emby.media/windows-server.html#:~:text=Portable Installation

Ah well....Appreciate the help buddy! Will have to look as there are big changes from 4.7 to 4.8 so I will have to find the legacy backup plugin as you should be able to use it to at least restore your usersdata if needed.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 31, 2025 Posted January 31, 2025 FYI the legacy backup plugin can be found here as your previous system appears to have been doing nightly backups.
uzio123 2 Posted January 31, 2025 Author Posted January 31, 2025 Ahh nice, didn't realise the backup piece. Any idea where these would usually be held?

No as you would have configured the plugin at some point. But you should be able to look at the config file C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\plugins\configurations\MBBackup.xml
uzio123 2 Posted January 31, 2025 Author Posted January 31, 2025 Thanks, when I navigate to where that xml says (just my documents folder) there is nothing there. While going through the folders I found this install log from today when I tried to reinstall. I can't decipher it though! server-install.log
