mikekoke 3 Posted January 27, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025 After restoring the emby backup on the new qnap server, I noticed that the image libraries, which in turn have a subdivision into folders, do not have the correct thumbnail. That is, instead of having the first image as a thumbnail, there is one at random. The images are named in progressive order: 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, etc... I use version 4.8.10.0
Luke 42077 Posted January 27, 2025 Posted January 27, 2025 Hi there, can you please provide a specific example? Thanks.
mikekoke 3 Posted January 27, 2025 Author Posted January 27, 2025 Inside the photo library there is the test 1 folder, the cover of the test 1 folder is not the first image in the folder, image 01 but it is image 28
Luke 42077 Posted January 28, 2025 Posted January 28, 2025 Hi there, can you please show screenshot examples to demonstrate that? Thanks !
mikekoke 3 Posted January 28, 2025 Author Posted January 28, 2025 In image 1 you can see the cover, while in image 2 you can see the photos contained in the folder test 1. Image 01 of test 1 folder is not used as the cover, but image 28 is used as the cover instead. I've done several tests recreating the library, but I always have the problem.

Majority of the time no but just did adding a bunch of files as it used 00007. Looks like 4.8 and 4.9 did the same thing on this test add. All other tests appeared correctly so I don't know if there is a number variable.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 28, 2025 Posted January 28, 2025 Testing a theory I am/will guess number padding can be an issue as I add a couple leading zeros and removed and readded folder and 000033 is now chosen. But from a universal naming scheme I have not been able to no use first image yet. 1
mikekoke 3 Posted February 24, 2025 Author Posted February 24, 2025 Hi, I did some tests and the problem seems to occur after I made the switch from qts to qts hero on the qnap nas. If I install emby on a qnap nas with qts the problem does not occur, but if I scan the same files with emby but hosted on a qnap nas with qts hero then the problem occurs.

Luke 42077 Posted March 1, 2025 Posted March 1, 2025 @Happy2Playare you able to reproduce on the 4.9 beta channel?

Sorry, I guess I should have shown the full picture as the previous one was default "filename". I was just looking at it was showing the correct first image for folders in this release. Luke 42077 Posted March 1, 2025 Posted March 1, 2025 OK so it looks good in 4.9? And you’re right. The thumbnail chosen is not tied to your selected sort order in the ui.

mikekoke 3 Posted March 2, 2025 Author Posted March 2, 2025 As soon as possible I will do some tests with version 4.9 1
mikekoke 3 Posted March 3, 2025 Author Posted March 3, 2025 (edited) With the beta version 4.9.0.40/4.9.0.41 the problem seems to be solved, but I will be able to have confirmation only after updating the main server, I will wait for the new version when it comes out of beta.
