Nelcruz 3 Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 (edited) Hello, just a quick question. My router has public and private ports and ip addresses instead of inhome and remote. In server, I unticked Automatic port Forwarding box and saved. Using the Wan Ip address in my dashboard I created two rules on router. I used this ip address in private address field, one for 8096, another for 8920. For both, I left the public ip address empty and the public and private port the same depending on the rule created. Yes, I do select Enable from dropdown and click Apply. I have even restarted router after rules were created. Still cannot connect remotely. I am hoping you can take a look at the setup screenshot provided and advise before going to ISP which is incredibly frustrating at the best of times. Thank you for your assistance! Luke 42078 Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 Hi, your LAN info goes into the private fields, and your WAN info goes into the public fields.
Nelcruz 3 Posted January 22, 2025 Author Posted January 22, 2025 Hi Luke, appreciate the prompt response. Ive gone and setup ports as advised, tested and still cannot connect. I next removed ip address from public field as it doesn't have an asterisk next to it, also turned off firewall for public and private networks. Still cannot connect remotely. I also tried combinations of wan/lan, 8086/8920, no joy. Thoughts?
Luke 42078 Posted January 22, 2025 Posted January 22, 2025 Have you ever remote connected? if not, have you gone through our remote setup guide? Remote Setup
Nelcruz 3 Posted January 22, 2025 Author Posted January 22, 2025 Hi Luke, Ye, I've done port Forwarding on another router. This is an older ISP provided router. I'll continue to chip away, but appreciate your input
Luke 42078 Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 OK please let us know what you find, thanks.
