Blatherscribe 5 Posted January 20, 2025 Posted January 20, 2025 Greetings, I'm trying to decide whether to get a NAS to use as my Emby server, or continue using my PC, which I'm about to upgrade/replace. I tend not to leave my computer running 24/7, and shut it down or send it to sleep overnight. Currently, with Windows 10, I can get Emby to wake my PC, but I have to use the phone app, and it never fully goes back to sleep. It stays in limbo, where it's technically awake but not signed in to my user account. Since I'll be moving over to Windows 11, I was wondering, will I be able to use the Emby Roku app to wake it up? If it wakes up, can I send it back to sleep? And is there any way to sort of half-wake it, such that it stays awake just enough to serve up a movie, then dozes off again after, without being fully up and running and demanding a login?

Hi, I don't really know about this. I think you'll just have to experiment, but yes, Emby for Roku does support Wake on Lan and should be able to wake your windows 11 server just fine.
Blatherscribe 5 Posted January 20, 2025 Author Posted January 20, 2025 Thanks, will do. I just wondered if there were any known issues since they've apparently changed how sleep works.
