@tanStaaflfor the mkv media files giving no compatible streams, I would need actual examples. Confirmation that it is still happening. and emby server logs covering the time of the error and details of what media files

@SShzinSorry my earlier comment was wrong. I deleted it. I will split the collections issue into a separate topic

Thank you, was there any update on the issue sent to the dev team?

It is being looked into. I have reproduced the error on 4.9.0.37

Planning for fix in beta 4.9.0.38. Let me know the outcome once 4.9.0.38 is available

Thanks

Planning for fix in beta 4.9.0.38

Will there be a update for the stable version as well as beta? I'd like to (if possible) stay on stable.

Lets wait for 4.9.0.38 to come out and the fix is confirmed and then we can see if it can be released into the stable release. Otherwise would need to wait for 4.9.0.xx to get released as the next stable release

@sa2000Testing .38 now, I think this fixed it but I want to make 100% sure so I'm going to use it for a day or two to confirm. Let me know what you see on your end.

Okay it seems to fix it for browser *ONLY*. Devices are still getting the error. I'm guessing the apps still need an update possibly?

If you are on the direct URL, it works, but if you try to use it via any app or app.emby.media it does not work. So unfortunately this update didn't fix it.

Couldn't edit again, but app.emby.media does work. Apps still have the error.

So it appears to have required client app fix - with it being fixed in the Emby Web app bundled with server beta 4.9.0.38, as well as the hosted app available at https://app.emby.media and http://app.emby.media

Can you tell me which client apps you use that are exhibiting the problem

Yes, Android, Android TV and Apple TV.

I don't have any other devices, so those are the only ones I'm aware of right now. It's possible that other devices are affected.

To be clear, this is still affecting the stable version.

Is this also the case with the app.emby.media ?

Yes, correct.

So Emby Web on app.emby.media works ok on 4.9.0.38 but not 4.8.10.0 ?

Just tested again, looks like I'm wrong on that one. Apologies. app.emby.media seems that it's working on both stable and beta. Not working on the above mentioned apps.

Ok - so that indicates it was a client app issue

Good to know, but it's not working on the direct web URL of the stable server.

So the apps need an update I'm guessing?

I believe so. I have passed the feedback to the development team.

The direct url access is using the Emby Web app version that is bundled with the server software - so on Emby Server 4.8.10.0 there would not be a fix.

The hosted web app on app.emby.media appears to have the fix that went into the bundled Emby Web app in Emby Server beta 4.9.0.38

If you need anything else from me, I'm available for additional testing.

Agreed, that there is no reason for a fix when app.emby.media is providing the fix currently for web users.

Yes - it is. It does include betas as well

@sa2000I don't mind using beta server if needed, but I'd rather not use the beta app on my devices. Are you able to test if the beta works for this? I see the universal was released on the 11th.

Hi, it will be in the next update of each Emby app that is impacted. Thanks.
