CowmanS77 1 Posted January 18, 2025 Posted January 18, 2025 I have my TV shows organized by name, season, episode. However, some episodes are not showing up in the emby Library. For example, I have all seasons of "The Office" (US version) and all the episodes across all seasons are added to the library fine, with the exception of season 8, only one episode is showing for that season. All the other episodes/files are physically there, but for whatever reason the "scan" doesn't pick them up. Any help?

How are your files named and organized? Wild guess is those episodes are likely being multi-versioned to S08E01 due to naming convention used.
CowmanS77 1 Posted January 18, 2025 Author Posted January 18, 2025 (edited) Here is a screenshot of how they are organized. Actually, one episode from Season 8 does show up, 8X 08 Gettysburg.m4v shows up. Edited January 18, 2025 by CowmanS77
Solution GrimReaper 4739 Posted January 18, 2025 Solution Posted January 18, 2025 (edited) Yeah, dump those spaces around "x" on both sides, i.e. "8x01, 8x02..." etc instead of "8 x 01, 8 x 02..." (or use some other supported naming convention, like S08Exx). Rescan. https://emby.media/support/articles/TV-Naming.html#episode-naming-conventions Edited January 18, 2025 by GrimReaper
CowmanS77 1 Posted January 18, 2025 Author Posted January 18, 2025 That did work for the two test files, so I'll do it for the rest. Thank you for your help. A couple of points/questions: 1. Season 9 has the spaces, and that one mapped just fine? Just crazy 8's? 2. Is there a way to manually add a file? 3. Resync does not work. I have to remove and re-add the library on Synology 4. Thanks again for your help!

It actually should have behaved same, all episodes should've been merged into S09E09, as effectively you were telling that to Emby: Quote A number of naming conventions are supported: 02 Episode Name.ext instead of: Quote A number of naming conventions are supported: anything_1x02.ext Why it didn't would require further investigation with exact example and server log(s), if you wanna chase that down. @Luke 2 hours ago, CowmanS77 said: 2. Luke 42077 Posted January 19, 2025 Posted January 19, 2025 It’s hard to say about season 9 without being able to see the files. You may have just gotten lucky.
CowmanS77 1 Posted January 19, 2025 Author Posted January 19, 2025 That's what she said. thanks you guys for the help. Tomorrow's new thread will be how to get Emby to recognize my HD Homerun, which is probably a Synology issue with permissions, but we'll see. 1
