heruofan 4 Posted January 18, 2025 Posted January 18, 2025 Hi~ due to the GFW problem I have to use VPN to do the scraping, but the QT tool will eat a lot of the data plan, so I have to ban most of the port (usuall from 20000-6xxxx), let them not go via VPN. However that will stop the EMBY doing the scraping. So, how can I know the ports using by emby to contact the scraping website, like themoviedb, thetvdb, omdb a pi, fanart, tmdb etc Or, I can setup the ports that be used to connect those api Appreciate!
Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 18, 2025 Posted January 18, 2025 No alternate port are used for communicating with providers site as they are all standard https (443) api connections. But the provider sites themselves may have issue and block vpn connections as this is seen quite often in other topics.

Luke 42077 Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 Hi, all of Emby Server's network requests are executed by the dotnet runtime's httpclient. It will pick a random client-side port to send requests from. I'm not sure that it supports customizing this.
