Is there any way to adjust the order of 'next up' or is that hard coded to sort by most recently played?

Is there any way to adjust the 'Next Up' section perhaps by what was most recently added? For example if someone has a lot of items in their next up, and an item is added from a series they watched a few years ago, it seems to be placed in order of when they watched that series, which is often way towards the back. Due to having a single line of items scrolling to the right, it is off screen and unable to be seen.

Are there any settings to adjust this sort? Otherwise, could be a nice option for Home Screen to have a 'sort by' feature with some options such as recently added, recently watched, alpha, etc..

Hi.  There is no control over this at this time.  The Android TV app does have a "Season Premieres" feature that will show new episode 1s in a row on the home screen.

Thanks for the info.

I think one of my TVs runs Android TV so I will check that out.

Would a feature like this be something that an Emby admin could program in? Or is this kind of thing locked down - like a custom home screen?

On the Roku If you configure the scroll style to "Fixed" instead of "float" you can then scroll left to get to the last item. That is a number of the horizontal rows become able to wrap under "fixed."

There are some drawbacks but you can decide if the advantages outweigh the disadvantages for you. ;)
I do not know if there are similar settings on other clients.
Personally, I really like the rows to wrap.
