How to convert old XML playlists to new M3U format

Hello, I recently upgraded my server and jumped from a very old version of Emby to the latest 4.8.10.0. I used the Backup and Restore plugin to bring over my data.

For the most part everything went smoothly except that all of my playlists are empty. They still show up, but nothing is inside them. I understand that in the transition from 4.7 to 4.8 the old .xml playlists were converted to .m3u. It looks like my system didn't run the conversion. I see the playlist.xml files where they are supposed to be. Next to each one is a .m3u file, but it just has the playlist title and nothing else.

Is there anyway I can get Emby to run the xml to m3u conversion manually to get the playlist data back?

Hi, have you created libraries in Emby library setup using the exact same folder paths that appear in the xml files?

Thanks for responding, Luke. Yes, the Backup and Restore plugin brought my libraries over intact, and all of the file system paths are identical. I just double checked one of the playlist XML files and the paths are accurate.

Hi, the playlists get converted to m3u on the first upgrade from 4.7 to 4.8. If you're already on 4.8 then it's too late.

Since you still have the xml files, then in theory you could spin up a portable version of 4.7, import the playlists there, then upgrade that install to 4.8, the playlists will get converted to m3u, and then move the m3u's over to the main server.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. I was hoping there was a way we could trick emby into running the conversion again. Oh well.
