scott46953 30 Posted January 16, 2025 Posted January 16, 2025 Why can I not watch live TV on my own server computer? It actually tells me device limit exceeded on the server itself? Now that one's pretty messed up... This has been an ongoing issue, where users get a screen on their device when the limit gets exceeded yet, and the server owner doesn't know nothing about it. It just needs fixed. And now I can't even test the live TV channels on the server itself? My God
ebr 16169 Posted January 16, 2025 Posted January 16, 2025 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!
scott46953 30 Posted January 16, 2025 Author Posted January 16, 2025 Looks pretty explained already to me. I run a server emby, when clicking on live TV and trying to play a channel after the server connection limit has been reached it, I can no longer test and play live TV channels on the server itself. The server should be automatically counted as the first connection in line. However, the server itself should not be counted on the list of connections, but I guess that's a matter of opinion.
Luke 42077 Posted January 16, 2025 Posted January 16, 2025 Hi, this could be coming from a number of different things so it's best that we look at an example. Can we please do that?
scott46953 30 Posted January 17, 2025 Author Posted January 17, 2025 Perfect example, I try to play a live tv channel on the computer running the Emby Server, it refuses and says connection limit exceeded. please upgrade your subscription. Not sure what more of an example is needed. this is not hard to figure out. on my firestick on my test tv, in the same room, it plays without issue.
scott46953 30 Posted January 17, 2025 Author Posted January 17, 2025 Also, i just counted 25 users logged in the server in the last week.. it should not be out of connections. not sure whats going on, but it is not counting connections right.

Hi. The limit does not have anything to do with "connections". Please see: Is there a limit to Emby Premiere?
