Flow of data stream with Live TV

Hi everybody...

as I am currently setting up my emby server, I encounter some "comprehension" thoughts. So if this question may sound stupid, please excuse due to my fairly new experience...

So, I plan to implement live TV via a m3u file on my server/home network, which will connect to a paid service. Naturally, I plan to protect emby / or my entire network traffic via VPN (wireguard).

I have my girlfriends place connected via a seperate IP-SecVPN connection (router - router connection), so she connects to my emby server via my home network address.

 

Now, regarding the live TV stream. Does the live TV stream run from my server via the router - router connection to her client, or does her client only lookup the channel address information within my server and then downloads the stream via her internet connection (Reason I am asking is of course, that I do not want to expose her public IP adress while streaming anything)? For any other media, it streams from my server, since this is where it is located physically, but for a TV stream I am just wondering if there is a difference.

Again, sorry if this is rather a stupid question, but I still try to wrap my head around some things... Thx in advance for helping my brain out here ...
