No compatible streams problem

Hi. I am having great difficulty getting anything to play. Constantly getting no compatible streams error. My setup is external hard drive attached to router and Emby server on my laptop. I have set the hard drive as network folder on my laptop. I can access this and moves files without problem. Sometimes movies play and sometimes the same movies don't play. I think i have setup everything up correctly and have not changed any settings from the default settings. Log shows error reading header but i'm clueless as to what that means. I have attached log. Can anyone help with this. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I don't think your SMB path is available so it's failing to open the file.

I don't use SMB so I can't really help much but make sure the SMB share is available and that Emby can access it.

Was it offline when you tried to play? Please let us know what you find. Thanks.

What do you mean by offline?

I activated all of the SMB features in turn windows features on/off. This morning most movies i click on are working. Then few minutes later they are not working and giving me the same error. Seems to be intermittent. I thought i had an unstable network connection but i checked that and was ok. Added latest log.

Could be a problem with the file:

09:35:14.231 built with gcc 12.2.0 (Rev10, Built by MSYS2 project)
	09:35:14.231 Execution Date: 2025-01-16 09:35:14
	09:35:14.449 [mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2 @ 000002306398c440] reached eof, corrupted CTTS atom
	09:35:14.449 [mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2 @ 000002306398c440] error reading header
	09:35:14.553 \\192.168.1.1\Seagate_OneTouchHDD_1_2e3c\MOVIES\WW2\Sink The Bismarck!.mp4: End of file
	09:35:14.555 EXIT

As a test, can you create an empty folder on your  C drive, then setup a library based on that folder, and copy one of these videos into the folder. Then scan and locate the newly added video in your emby web app. Does it play from the C drive?

The files on external drive attached to my router. I created local network folder.

I'm still having the same problem. Can anyone suggest anything?

As a test, can you try attaching the drive to your server machine instead?
