GauntFeatures 1 Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 Hi. I am having great difficulty getting anything to play. Constantly getting no compatible streams error. My setup is external hard drive attached to router and Emby server on my laptop. I have set the hard drive as network folder on my laptop. I can access this and moves files without problem. Sometimes movies play and sometimes the same movies don't play. I think i have setup everything up correctly and have not changed any settings from the default settings. Log shows error reading header but i'm clueless as to what that means. I have attached log. Can anyone help with this. Thanks for any help you can provide. ffmpeg-transcode-d9a1040b-cbb4-42f0-a36c-8b4d1c6eea4f_1.txt

Lessaj 467 Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 (edited) I don't think your SMB path is available so it's failing to open the file. GauntFeatures 1 Posted January 14, 2025 Author Posted January 14, 2025 HI thanks what does that mean? i'm clueless
Lessaj 467 Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 I don't use SMB so I can't really help much but make sure the SMB share is available and that Emby can access it.
GauntFeatures 1 Posted January 14, 2025 Author Posted January 14, 2025 Ok thanks i'll look in to that
Luke 42078 Posted January 15, 2025 Posted January 15, 2025 Was it offline when you tried to play? Please let us know what you find. Thanks.
GauntFeatures 1 Posted January 15, 2025 Author Posted January 15, 2025 What do you mean by offline? I activated all of the SMB features in turn windows features on/off. This morning most movies i click on are working. Then few minutes later they are not working and giving me the same error. Seems to be intermittent. I thought i had an unstable network connection but i checked that and was ok. Added latest log. ffmpeg-transcode-72170692-12da-4470-9c80-2b35838d91f0_1.txt

Then scan and locate the newly added video in your emby web app. Does it play from the C drive?
GauntFeatures 1 Posted January 16, 2025 Author Posted January 16, 2025 Ok done that and movie played fine on both browser and tv app. 1
GauntFeatures 1 Posted January 17, 2025 Author Posted January 17, 2025 The files on external drive attached to my router. I created local network folder.
GauntFeatures 1 Posted January 19, 2025 Author Posted January 19, 2025 I'm still having the same problem. Can anyone suggest anything?
Luke 42078 Posted January 23, 2025 Posted January 23, 2025 As a test, can you try attaching the drive to your server machine instead?
