ummetcivi 1 Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 I'm using the new Windows app and I can't play any content. I was able to play before version 2. It happens for all content. What I tried for my server: Use ip:8096 without reverse proxy Use reverse proxy and local dns e.g. emby.lan:80 Use reverse proxy and remote dns emby.x.com I only see two different logs when this happens: 2025-01-14 21:49:59.468 Info Uygulama: ApplicationStateMonitorWinUI.Window_Activated 2025-01-14 21:49:59.683 Info WebView: Message received: RaiseEventOneWay-NativeAppHost-resume-16 Size: 50 2025-01-14 21:50:00.472 Info WebView: Synchronous Invoke: 1/1 MethodInvokeSync PlayerMpvVideo canPlayMediaType 530 ["Video"] true 2025-01-14 21:50:00.472 Info WebView: Synchronous Invoke: 1/1 MethodInvokeSync PlayerWinAudio canPlayMediaType 531 ["Video"] false 2025-01-14 21:50:00.508 Info WebView: sendMessage: 1/1 ModuleFireEventOneWay IAppSettings_4 change 2 Size: 58 2025-01-14 21:50:00.509 Info WebView: Event fired: IAppSettings_4.change 2025-01-14 21:50:00.509 Info WebView: Synchronous Invoke: 1/1 MethodInvokeSync PlayerMpvVideo canPlayMediaType 532 ["Video"] true 2025-01-14 21:50:00.509 Info WebView: Synchronous Invoke: 1/1 MethodInvokeSync PlayerWinAudio canPlayMediaType 533 ["Video"] false 2025-01-14 21:50:00.510 Info WebView: Synchronous Invoke: 1/1 MethodInvokeSync PlayerMpvVideo getVolume 534 [] 100 2025-01-14 21:50:02.192 Info Uygulama: ApplicationStateMonitorWinUI.Window_Activated 2025-01-14 21:50:47.414 Info Uygulama: ApplicationStateMonitorWinUI.Window_Activated 2025-01-14 21:50:47.631 Info WebView: Message received: RaiseEventOneWay-NativeAppHost-resume-17 Size: 50 2025-01-14 21:50:48.272 Info WebView: Synchronous Invoke: 1/1 MethodInvokeSync PlayerMpvVideo canPlayMediaType 535 ["Video"] true 2025-01-14 21:50:48.272 Info WebView: Synchronous Invoke: 1/1 MethodInvokeSync PlayerWinAudio canPlayMediaType 536 ["Video"] false 2025-01-14 21:50:48.305 Info WebView: sendMessage: 1/1 ModuleFireEventOneWay IAppSettings_4 change 2 Size: 58 2025-01-14 21:50:48.305 Info WebView: Event fired: IAppSettings_4.change 2025-01-14 21:50:48.305 Info WebView: Synchronous Invoke: 1/1 MethodInvokeSync PlayerMpvVideo canPlayMediaType 537 ["Video"] true 2025-01-14 21:50:48.306 Info WebView: Synchronous Invoke: 1/1 MethodInvokeSync PlayerWinAudio canPlayMediaType 538 ["Video"] false 2025-01-14 21:50:48.306 Info WebView: Synchronous Invoke: 1/1 MethodInvokeSync PlayerMpvVideo getVolume 539 [] 100 2025-01-14 21:50:48.574 Info Uygulama: ApplicationStateMonitorWinUI.Window_Activated And this one: 2024-12-28 15:39:43.151 Error WebView: Error during callback execution for event 'playerchange': TypeError: player.isMuted is not a function URL: file:///C:/Program%20Files/WindowsApps/EmbyMedia.EmbyTheater_2.207.2.0_x64__svmepx4c03f7m/web/modules/emby-apiclient/events.js Line/Col: 1/688 2024-12-28 15:39:43.152 Info WebView: Synchronous Invoke: 1/1 MethodInvokeSync PlayerMpvVideo getVolume 178 [] 100 2024-12-28 15:39:43.152 Error WebView: Error during callback execution for event 'playerchange': TypeError: player.isMuted is not a function URL: file:///C:/Program%20Files/WindowsApps/EmbyMedia.EmbyTheater_2.207.2.0_x64__svmepx4c03f7m/web/modules/emby-apiclient/events.js Line/Col: 1/688 2024-12-28 15:39:43.152 Info WebView: Synchronous Invoke: 1/1 MethodInvokeSync PlayerMpvVideo getVolume 179 [] 100 2024-12-28 15:39:43.155 Debug WebViewAdapterWinUI: CoreWebView2_WebResourceRequested: WebResourceRequested: file:///C:/Program%20Files/WindowsApps/EmbyMedia.EmbyTheater_2.207.2.0_x64__svmepx4c03f7m/web/modules/common/dialogs/alert.js 2024-12-28 15:39:47.228 Info Uygulama: ApplicationStateMonitorWinUI.Window_Activated

softworkz 5066 Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 Settings >> About >> Logfiles (same list as the EmbyClient logs)

softworkz 5066 Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 Ok thanks. Can you please post or PM one or two complete logs where playback fails?

softworkz 5066 Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 Thanks for the logs! Did you choose any different player in this menu?

softworkz 5066 Posted January 14, 2025 Posted January 14, 2025 The error in the log doesn't make any sense. It can call getVolume() but not isMuted(), even though both are at the same place on the same object. What's weird is that you are the first one where this kind of error occurs. Is there anything special or different on your machine? Would you be able to set everything to English? By that I mean Windows locale, location, language, input and (important) regional settings (including sorting) The language in the Emby app Thanks

Do you plan to fix it?

Sure, but we first need to understand what it is. It was just a guess because it was the last thing I could think of. Would you be able to find out which of the language settings exactly makes the difference?

Changing Windows language (only language, not locale etc) from Turkish to English worked. Changing Emby language doesn't have any affect.
ummetcivi 1 Posted January 16, 2025 Author Posted January 16, 2025 I was wrong. Changing Windows Locale to en_US without changing the Windows language worked.

Solution softworkz 5066 Posted January 17, 2025 Solution Posted January 17, 2025 Thank you very much! I was able to identify the cause: With Turkish locale, it converted the "I" of "IsMuted" to ısMuted instead of isMuted (with the dotless 'i' being a letter I've never seen before ) It's fixed for the next update. Thanks again!
