Resolution of a film is not displayed consistently

Hello everybody,

first of all thanks for this great peace of software. I am starting to import my films (about 3600, most of them recorded via sat-tv) into elby - works great. My film environment:

  • Three Synology servers where the video files are stored (types .ts and .mkv)
  • A small dedicated PC with Debian headless, only for the emby server
  • A Fire TV stick and an Apple TV with the official apps as emby clients
  • Emby is managed using the emby web gui in Firefox on a Win 10 machine

Now I have noticed a small problem with the presentation of the video resolution on the different screens:

  • Let's say there is a video recorded from Servus TV Austria with resolution 1920x1080 interlaced "1080i"
  • On the details screen of the film (web GUI) the information is correct (in the headlines "Video 1080i H264", same in the Video details box at the bottom of the page.
  • On the page with all of the videos (web GUI) I checked the field "Auflösung" to be shown on the screen, and there "1080p" is displayed. On the tv with the Fire TV stick in the headlines of the details screen of the video the resolution is shown as "1080", in the video details at the bottom of the screen it is OK "1080i".
  • A film with 576i (OK on the details screen of the video) is shown with "480p" on the screen with all the videos.
  • A film with 576p is shown with "480p"

Another minor issue:

Somewhere I read that within the sorting the figures 1, 2, ... are treated as letters which means the sorting will be 1, 10, 11, 2, 21,...

BUT: The video "20.000 Meilen unter dem Meer" is shown before "100.000 Dollar in der Sonne" - it should be the other way round.

Many thank for your support

PS: This is my first post - should I've done something wrong please let me know to correct the issue. Thanks

Sounds a bit like, for instance, Blithe Spirit -

1080p but in movies if I filter for 720, thats where it shows up. Guess its a general 4:3 ratio thing, i.e. not widescreen.

Agree about the 576 thing..

Hi, here are screenshots from the Web Gui:

1. Film details at the top of the page:

image.png.e9505d7b50ad57c75608197b8ea5a377.png 1080i is correct.

2. Video details at the bottom of the page:

3. Film poster on the overview screen:

Second example:

Third example:

2. Video details at the bottom of the page:

3. Film poster on the overview screen:

Films with 720p (recorded from HD stations - e.g. ORF1) are shown correctly on all places.

Many thanks for your support.
