Wolas 1 Posted January 13, 2025 Posted January 13, 2025 Hello, I am using the android emby app. When listening music I can send it via chromecast to my Pionner ampplifier. It works fine. However it does work at all with other devices such as my Bose SmartSpeaker 500 or Harman Kardon Citation. Those two devices work with other music apps, but not with emby app. What could I do ? Thank you.

Wolas 1 Posted January 13, 2025 Author Posted January 13, 2025 Ok here is the log duriong an attempt. At 17h30 I launched the android emby app, a music and wanted to send it to the Bose. It did not work. The song was still playing on my phone. I then tried to stop and send it to the harman kardon. Again it failed with the music still being played on the phone. The chromecast button changed (as if the cast was successful) and in the chromecast list, the harman kardon vas ticked as beeing used for the chromecast. But it was not. Music was beeing played on my phone. It even hang the phone as the emby app became irresponsive. The music was playing but I could not stop it even when closing all apps. I had to reboot the phone.embyserver log chromecast.txtembyserver log chromecast.txt

Wolas 1 Posted May 11, 2025 Author Posted May 11, 2025 Hello, Well I tried with server 4.8.11 and android emby app 3.4.67 It is a bit better, there is no crash. When I ask to cast to a device, I hear the connection with the chromecast device (a sound made by the device like if it was connecting) but after a few seconds the playback is still on the phone and nothing more happens. Here is the log with some attempts at 17:40 Thank you embyserver - Chromecast.txt

Wolas 1 Posted May 21, 2025 Author Posted May 21, 2025 I play music first then try to send it to the chromecast. I tried the other way but the result is the same. There is a connection to the chromecast it awakes, but nothing more, music is still played on the phone.

Wolas 1 Posted May 24, 2025 Author Posted May 24, 2025 Here are some screenshots 1. I play some music on my phone 2. I choose to cast it on Pionneer Amp or Bose Smart Speaker 3. The chromecast device wakes up (it has received something) but the music is still playing on the phone and I have a blue circle turning 4. Same thing later the music is played on the phone and the blue circle is still there
