Default tab for Recordings library

I brought this up a while ago but it still has not been addressed. The standard app needs an option for a default tab for the Recordings library (apparently it's missing for mixed type libraries).  This is especially tedious on my Google TV device where I always have to manually switch to the Shows tab after navigating into my Recordings library.  If I could change the Recordings library to be TV shows only that would also be fine but it doesn't seem possible to do that.
