New app video shows sporadic horizontal line glitching

Turns out I'm still getting some line glitches using the suggested settings, but less frequently than before. I'm not sure what setting to tweak because although one case certainly involves upscaling (standard def up to 1080p), I was getting some glitching on a 1080p source.

FWIW I am using refresh rate switching. If that can contribute, let me know and I'll switch it off.

Otherwise I guess Energy Efficient is the one remaining option, so I'll try that next unless someone directs me otherwise. Hopefully that doesn't bog down my CPU too much, especially if 2 shows are being watched simultaneously. I'm probably an edge case with my old hardware, but it's frustrating that the new app is so problematic in ways that never afflicted Theater, since this is apparently not being seen as a bug. Hopefully I'm happy with Energy Efficient so I don't have to go back to Theater. Nevertheless, I do appreciate the responsiveness I've gotten here.

Didn't you already say it worked fine?

Energy efficient has seemed fine so far. Going back to balanced, the lines returned.

Energy efficient should use the least CPU of all methods.

One other thing you can try is to select "GPU" instead of "GPU-Next" (the default primary choice).

Yes I said that.

Apparently I misunderstood Energy Efficient. Hopefully it'll work 100% for me.

I'll check for that GPU setting.

Thanks!

If you're playing DV files. You have to use gpu-next. It's the only vo that supports DV.

Okay, good to know. I've never paid attention to whether or not I have such files, which I suspect means I probably do have some. I'll just stick with Energy Efficient then. Thanks!
