Onn 4k Pro - A/V Sync Issue with Android TV app, not with Android App

Every since switching out one of my Fire TVs with an Onn 4k Pro streaming box a few months ago, I've noticed that the Android TV app has audio sync issues after about 30-40 minutes of playback. The issue also happens when the playback automatically starts on the next episode of a TV show (it doesn't seem to happen playing a regular ~22 minute show until the next episode starts). It looks as if the video starts dropping frames and/or the playback speed is not quite right causing the audio to become out of sync. I've seen it happen on both H264/H265 SDR/HDR files but have not tested AV1.

However, the Android app works perfectly but I prefer the Android TV app. Both apps work fine on the Fire TV and Shield which leads me to believe that it may be something specific to the Onn 4k Pro. 

Not a huge issue but just wondering if anyone else has had the problem or knows of a solution.
