Steve E 2 Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 win10 + emby 4.8.10.0 Set here library > advanced > metadata path C:\Users\mediaman\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\metadata Check here dashboard > ... > server info C:\Users\mediaman\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\metadata\metadata tried with trailing backslash. no change. system builds new metadata folder where it says Changed to C:\Users\mediaman\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server and checked server log 2025-01-06 08:48:28.823 Info App: Internal metadata path: C:\Users\mediaman\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\metadata Is that by design?

The dashboard server info should be the same
Steve E 2 Posted January 6, 2025 Author Posted January 6, 2025 Yeah I edited it On this page library > advanced > metadata path To this path C:\Users\mediaman\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\metadata The result is C:\Users\mediaman\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\metadata\metadata Looks like the page to set it adds \metadata to the end

I will look into it What is the reason for wanting to change the path from the default? What do you benefit from changing it from its default of C:\Users\mediaman\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\metadata to C:\Users\mediaman\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\metadata
Steve E 2 Posted January 6, 2025 Author Posted January 6, 2025 I want the path matched with the existing emby server that's running for years Dealing with missing data like actors and artists should be easier
Luke 42078 Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 If you just want the default then I would just blank it out and the server will set it back to that.
Steve E 2 Posted January 6, 2025 Author Posted January 6, 2025 The existsing servers been running fine for 10 years I'm not gonna mess with it. The settings for the new server were imported from the backup & restore plugin. Nothing tipped me off there was a problem until looking at the nfo files with hard coded paths to actors and artists

Now that you've discovered what it does with the \metadata, you might be able to just configure it to the parent folder above that.
Solution Steve E 2 Posted January 7, 2025 Author Solution Posted January 7, 2025 I did. It works fine. Thanks. 2
