Embodiment 28 Posted January 3, 2025 Posted January 3, 2025 I've seen this come up several times. Is there a final update on whether a person can delete Just a season rather then individual episodes or the entire TV series? Both on my Android TV and tablet there is no option to delete a season. Long press or otherwise.
Luke 42077 Posted January 3, 2025 Posted January 3, 2025 HI, yes certainly you can. You just have to do this from the season screen, not the series or individual episode screen.
Embodiment 28 Posted January 3, 2025 Author Posted January 3, 2025 I am not seeing it. Long press on season 2 there is no delete option. Open season 2 and press three dots above more , the option is not there either.

Embodiment 28 Posted January 4, 2025 Author Posted January 4, 2025 Ugh. Time to apologize. I take it they need to be in folders. Long story short. I was putting in folders the wrong copy of the series. I have it two places. So for Emby, unlike HDHomeRun, series are best in folders?

Although you can get it to work without - having TV files set up like TV > Show Name > Season X means you can use S01E01.MKV for a file name. Which removes a lot of opportunity for misspelled file names not matching (for me anyway....) and matches meta very nicely. It also removes opportunity for "nested" directories which cause a ton of problems.
Luke 42077 Posted January 4, 2025 Posted January 4, 2025 But please note, while they are recommended, they are not required.
Embodiment 28 Posted January 4, 2025 Author Posted January 4, 2025 Well new mystery to me. I went and put three shows and took all the episodes into season folders. I am back to the problem of I can delete the entire shows and individual episodes, but the option to delete seasons is not available.
Luke 42077 Posted January 4, 2025 Posted January 4, 2025 Hi, did you run a library scan after doing that? can you show a screenshot of where you are looking for it?
Embodiment 28 Posted January 4, 2025 Author Posted January 4, 2025 Yes I ran a scan twice I am trying to do it from the context menu in this instance.
Embodiment 28 Posted January 4, 2025 Author Posted January 4, 2025 I can add some additional information. I added on the same NAS as the Emby installation, another show with seasons in folders, and I can delete each season. I have three shows on another NAS and I cannot delete each season, though the option to delete the entire series is an option. If it was a rights issue, I would assume I could not delete the entire series.

Embodiment 28 Posted January 4, 2025 Author Posted January 4, 2025 Still not seeing it if this is what is referred to as the season screen.
Luke 42077 Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 Can you right click on the episode, click edit metadata, then show a screenshot of that? Thanks.
Embodiment 28 Posted January 5, 2025 Author Posted January 5, 2025 I figured it out. My venture into managing my media library was years ago now and I've been up to now using Kodi exclusively. I never had to have my tv show seasons in individual folders. My episodes are named very clearly and Emby and Kodi picked them up with no issue. But Emby (makes sense when I think of it) has to have the TV show episodes in seasons if it is going to delete the season. I just put one tv show in season folders and I could delete it. I have a very large library. It will take some thought if I am going to arrange them all into seasons. I still use Kodi at this time so that would affect rescanning all my show when and if I do it. But now I know the issue and am passing on the solution (that probably everyone else knows). 1
