@doronare you still having an issue with this using the latest version of Emby for Android?

Yes, unfortunately. Just reconnected the device (it's offline for me due to this 😞 ) and updated the app. Same behavior.

Are you able to view the sample video I sent you with the latest app on the Gst hardware?

HI, yes we are looking into it. Thanks.

My daughter runs into this issue as well.

She has a newer Amazon Fire Stick 4k (Dec 2024).  She's using it on an old 1080p TV.  It will play most 4k content and transcode,  but she runs into an random movie where this happens.  The only commonalities I've noticed is that they are all DV or DV/HDR and have higher bitrate.

Probably also HDR10+ and this is the problem with that hardware.

Hi. Our standard android app (Just "Emby" on Amazon and "Emby for Android on Google) should have this fixed already.

Thanks.

... and it does!! That is fantastic news. Thank you!

Quick question before wrapping this thread: Are you planning to retrofit this fix into the Emby for Android TV app as well? I just tried the beta version (marked Nov 29) and it is not fixed in there. Not a biggie - just asking for completeness.

Probably not as it would require a bunch of re-work.
