Hi guys, just wanted to check and see if there has been any traction on this?  This has also been going on for me for months now.  I've noticed it from several different devices and I've attached a stuck stream from the Samsung TV app.

"I have the same issue, but with some devices. It gets stuck and doesn't disappear from the interface, even after the movie has finished playing on the device. The only way to make it disappear is by restarting the Emby server.

Any updates on this by chance?  This issue with abandoned streams getting stuck on multiple devices seems to be getting worse lately, at least for me.  I'm continually having to either restart my server or if that doesn't seem to work, I have to disable the user account and reenable.  Roku's and Samsung seem to be the worst lately.  Thanks!!

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

Hi @Luke- Just noticed this reply.  I'll get some info reported next time I have stuck streams :)  Thanks!

Next time I see a stuck stream I'll send a log.  I have something similar but from a live stream versus saved content.

Even after rebooting the emby service via web front end, the live stream starts up immediately. I first noticed this a week or two ago.  When looking at the activity log, the streams start the previous night and they are not watching it all night or leaving it on.  I believe with all occurrences it was with AppleTVs.  This is similar to saved content except when I restart the emby service, the saved content streams are removed from the "Now Playing" area.

The stop and pause buttons do not work either on these live streams (from the web front end).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you need further troubleshooting let me know what you would like me to do.

Hi, the Apple TV is reporting to the server that it's playing. For one thing, I can see you're on a really old version of the Emby Apple TV app so I would try updating that to the latest version.

I updated the AppleTVs and I have not seen one of their live streams "stick" yet.  The attached images is pre-recorded content.  One is via a browser the other via an AppleTV.  Neither are being played at the moment and update bar confirms there is no streaming.

I cannot pull logs at the moment but I have a stream that according to the logs initiated a stream at 10:09am on June 27 (yesterday). The stream is still playing today, even after a server restart. AppleTV 1.9.9(6).
what is interesting is that I can go to the home page then back to managing the server and the stream is always starting at 1:37:01. I can watch the stream count up. The stream seems to be in a loop after watching it a while. 1:37:01-1:37:09.

hitting the stop button does not do anything. And the activity log doesn’t show a pause or stop for this stream.

I see the same thing, but more on Roku devices than anything else.

Another observation.  I have apparently a single live stream according to Emby that has been streaming for a couple of days now.  Attempting to stop the stream doesn't work via the web interface.  Restarting the emby service doesn't work.  Network graphs show no data (so it isn't actually streaming).  Updating this morning from 4.9.1.1 to 4.9.1.5 didn't remove the stream from the activity list.  Updating the OS (Debian) and then restarting didn't remove the stream from the activity list.  I can confirm the AppleTV is fully updated and is not actually streaming anything.
