Remove background from primary image

Just wondering if there is a way to remove the background behind a primary image, apart from going through every movie/series/episode and resizing

Don't know if it makes any difference, but I have coverart plugin installed (maybe an option in there that I have missed)

OK that's not part of your image. That is the user interface rendering that behind your image. There is currently no option to turn that off.

I guess it is questionable but can't the placeholder (.cardContent-background) be transparent?

I like the transparent look much better, can you share what/where you changed exactly?

I assume it was in the custom CSS section of the admin panel?

Yes it is in the image as I just tested changing the browser dev console, but custom css only applies to the web client.

    background-color: transparent;
}

As it is theme based on the color that is used now.
