Sanduleak 0 Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Hi everyone. I have a lot of movies in DVD Iso and BR Iso format, I understand that the ability to play those formats in Emby is limited and I have a lot of those movies also in .mp4 and .mkv formats, so, after reading a lot I have been able to understand how to have multi version movies recognized by Emby, even if Emby is not able to play them is quite usefull to know that I have an .ISO and a .mkv version of some movies. The question I have is, is it possible for Emby to recognize not the .iso file but the BDMV or VIDEO_TS files as a second format?. As I said I have a lot of DVDs ripped to my server in folders rather than in ISO format and it whould be very usefull to be able to know if I have the DVD o BR Version with the .mkv version. Thanks a lot.

Luke 42078 Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Hi, I don't believe this currently works with folder rips. How are your files named and organized?
Sanduleak 0 Posted December 31, 2024 Author Posted December 31, 2024 Oh, I have tried a lot of different options, as I said with a DVD ISO is quite easy, even if Emby can´t play it it detects it as a different version of the movie and still gives you the option of trying to play it, but with folder it simply doesn´t detect the folder as a different version. I have tried: - Movie (2008) - 1080.mkv - Movie (2008) - DVD.iso And, of course this works Also: - Movie (2008) - 1080.mkv - Movie (2008) - DVD (Folder) VIDEO_TS This does not work - Movie (2008) - 1080.mkv - Movie (2008) - DVD (Folder) "Here are the contents of VIDEO_TS Folder" It doesn´t work. What I can´t understand is that, even if have not been able to play a single DVD in Emby (Nor an ISO or a folder structure) I have been able to play BR in folder structure (But not in ISO format) so it is curious (at least to me) that having the capacity to play and detect the format Emby does not have the capacity of "detecting" the format when is in a shared folder with other versions of the same movie. Of course is no big deal, I will reconvert my folders to ISO to be able to play them with Kodi, just wanted to know if what I wanted was possible before starting the reconversion process.
Luke 42078 Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Right ok this is currently not supported folder rips. It probably just never got implemented so that would need to be looked at. Thanks.
