Lag/stuttering when playing via emby app and not from server

Hi everyone,

I've been using a synology server for a while and started using emby again due to synology dropping the video player in a recent update. I have been setting it up and everything seems to work fine, but occasionally I run into media that runs really choppily - as in it plays 3 seconds, stops for 10 seconds, plays 3 seconds, etc.

This is only 1080p anime or standard tv shows. I've run 4k movies no problem directly from my server on my local network. When I run into those problems, I can close emby and run it perfectly off my server on the same device using the same connection. Something in the app seems to be causing an issue.

It's not every media item, and it's not always consistent (eg. Something works one day and doesn't a few days later), and can play most media with no problems.

I've checked if emby was running some task in the background and nothing was going on.

Anyone have any ideas on what the issue could be?
